Today, Cherokee Nation Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner, Cherokee Marshal Daniel Mead and Council of the Cherokee Nation District 8 Councilor Codey Poindexter joined the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service to help grant 5-year-old Cherokee citizen Josiah Williamsโ wish to be a cop for a day! ๐โจ
Josiah, who was born with a congenital heart disease known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome, was welcomed as an honorary Cherokee Nation Marshal and was even administered the official Marshal oath of office.
He received official Cherokee Nation Marshal patches, Cherokee Nation Marshal swag and a special ride inside the Marshal Serviceโs Special Operations Unit, which supports search and rescue operations.
The day was filled with plenty of other opportunities for Josiah to see what itโs like to serve his community. He got to climb inside a Tahlequah Fire Dept firetruck, check out the controls on the Marshal Serviceโs Robodog and got an up-close look at a helicopter brought in by First Flight - Tahlequah, OK. ๐๐
Wado to the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, Tahlequah Fire Department, Tahlequah First Flight, and everyone involved for coming together to make little Josiahโs wish come true.
Special shout out to SonBurst Graphics for donating the official Cherokee Nation Marshal t-shirt Josiah proudly wore today!
