The Maryland Department of Transportation plans to resurface Piney Branch Road between Eastern Avenue and Sligo Avenue. The project schedule has been revised, with work now tentatively scheduled as follows:

Milling: September 8–12
Paving: September 17–21

Work will generally take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. During construction, one lane will be closed at a time, with flaggers directing traffic through the work zone. Drivers should expect minor delays and use caution when traveling through the area.

Parking Restrictions
To allow flexibility for weather delays or changes to the construction schedule, No Parking restrictions may be posted Monday through Friday, September 8–23.

Based on the contractor's current tentative schedule, residents may be able to park in affected areas:

On weekends;
During rain events when construction is not taking place;
On weekdays when no construction activity has begun by 9:00 a.m.; and
During periods between milling and paving when construction is not taking place.
The contractor currently anticipates a period between completion of milling and the start of paving when parking may be available, including September 12–13 and potentially portions of September 14–16. However, this is based on the current construction schedule and is subject to change.

Residents must follow all posted No Parking signs and temporary parking restrictions, regardless of whether construction activity is visible. Parking restrictions may be established or modified by the State or City as work progresses. Vehicles parked in violation of posted restrictions may be subject to enforcement, including ticketing or towing.

The construction schedule is tentative and may change due to weather, construction progress, or other unforeseen circumstances.

We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation while this work is completed.
