Through voter education, lobbying and participation in the electoral process, we seek to move our country into a leadership position on the most urgent global issue of our time — the climate crisis. Together with our sister organization, the

Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN), we focus most of our efforts in the Chesapeake Bay states of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. We believe positive solutions exist and must be embraced now to preserve our planet for future generations

A big win for Calvert County residents! On the morning Tuesday August 18th, Calvert County residents rallied in front of the County Administration building just before a hearing and vote on a 6-month data center moratorium. After the rally advocates for the data center pause packed the hearing room and after listening to our demands, Commissioners voted 5-0 for the moratorium! Thanks to everyones hard work, Calvert County is making progress to limit data center harms.

Dominion wants customers to cover another $922 million in fuel costs. That could mean higher monthly bills for Virginia families! Before anyone is asked to pay more, the SCC should make Dominion explain why these costs keep piling up and whether better planning could have prevented them.

HAPPENING TODAY in Baltimore, MD. Last legislative session, we passed legislation that called for a study into the cost of climate change caused by major fossil fuel companies. Now it's time to make those polluters pay!
