🔥 BURN BAN UPDATE 🔥

Our neighbors Red River County and Franklin County have both been placed under a burn ban.

At the time of this post, Titus County has not been placed under a burn ban. However, with current dry conditions, we ask everyone to please use extreme caution if you must burn.

🌬️ Please help prevent wildfires:
• Check weather and wind conditions before burning.
• Never leave a fire unattended.
• Keep water and firefighting tools nearby.
• Make sure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving it.

Please help keep our communities and surrounding areas safe! When in doubt, don’t burn. 🚒🔥

The City of Talco is aware of issues with unrestrained and unconfined pets. The city currently is not able to provide animal control services due to regulations and legalities regarding code enforcement, and unfortunately the city is limited on what it can do to assist with nuisance animal complaints.

Citizens should report issues with nuisance animals, as well as concerns of dumped or neglected animals to the Titus County Sheriff’s Office and follow the advice given by law enforcement personnel.

We ask for all pet owners to give proper confinement, shelter, food and water to animals under their responsibility.

The City understands the frustration regarding these issues and hopes to be able to provide animal control services in the near future.

Sanitation Solutions has increased the cost of trash pick-up for the City of Talco. The new rate of $25.50 plus 1.98 tax will be reflected on the bill you receive in September 2026. If you have any questions, please call Talco City Hall/Water Department @ 903-379-3731.
