🎈🚗 7th Grade Science – Balloon Car Engineering Challenge! 🔬⚙️

Our 7th graders put their engineering skills to work with a Balloon Car Challenge! Students designed and built their own balloon-powered cars and then put them to the test in a little friendly competition.

They had a great time seeing whose design could go the distance! 🏁

🏆 Congratulations to our winner, Jaxon Vise! His balloon car came out on top!

Great job to all of our 7th graders for using creativity, problem-solving, and a little science to make learning fun! 🧡🖤

🧪⚛️ 7th Grade Science – Build an Atom Candy Project! 🍬

Who says science can’t be sweet?! 😋
Our 7th graders have been learning about atoms and atomic theory, and they put that knowledge to work by building their own edible atom models!

Using the periodic table, students determined the correct number of protons, neutrons, and electrons for their assigned element. Then came the fun part—using cotton candy and different candies to represent the electron cloud and subatomic particles. ⚛️🍭

This was a great hands-on way to take something that can be difficult to visualize and turn it into something students could actually build…and apparently eat when they were finished! 😂
We love seeing learning come to life in the classroom! 🧡🖤

📚 NO SCHOOL — MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 🇺🇸
Buffalo Valley Public School will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

School will resume Tuesday, September 8 at our regularly scheduled time.

We hope all of our Buffalo families have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend! 🧡🖤

🎉🎂 Celebrating Our Buffalo Birthdays! 🧁🦬

We had a little extra fun during lunch today! 🧡🖤

Thanks to the generosity of our local churches, our students will now get a little extra birthday celebration at school with cupcakes, ice cream, and a special goodie bag! 🎁🍦🧁

Since we’re just getting started, today we had some catching up to do and celebrated all of our June, July & August birthdays together! 🎈🎉

And judging by these pictures… we think the birthday treats were definitely a HIT! 😋🧁🍦

We are incredibly thankful for our local churches and community members who continue to pour into our school and find special ways to make our students feel loved and celebrated. It truly takes a village, and we are blessed with a pretty great one! 🧡

It is with deep sadness that we share that our Buffalo Valley school family has experienced the loss of one of our students.
Our hearts are with the student's family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that our community respect the family's privacy as they grieve and navigate this difficult loss.
We know that the loss of a student affects our entire school family. Our counselor and support staff will be available beginning tomorrow and throughout the week to provide support to students and staff who may need someone to talk with or simply need a place to process their feelings.
If you know your student needs extra support, please contact the office. Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with the family and loved ones during this difficult time.
