Talihina Fire Department

Talihina Fire Department We serve the Town of Talihina and 5 miles in all directions outside the town limits. Currently we are an ISO Class 5/5x. All firefighters are Volunteer.

Our Department is located in South Western LeFlore County near the Latimer County Line, we serve both LeFlore County and a small portion of the Southeastern side of Latimer County. Our Department responds to Structure Fires, Grass/Brush Fires, Automobile Fires, Automobile Accidents, and Medical Calls to assist our local EMS service.We are a highly motivated group who are always willing to lend a helping hand to our communities.

On 8/20/26 TFD responded to a large wildfire threatening structures in Latimer County. TFD was assisted by Buffalo Valley FD and provided structure protection, while Oklahoma Forestry placed dozer containment lines around the fire in rugged terrain. Total acreage was 39.

8/20/26 Grass fire with multiple hay bales involved.

In total we responded to 6 calls, in a 6 hrs period.

Shoutout to all of our firefighters that ensured every call was answered in a timely manner.

Thank you to LeFlore County 911 for getting all the calls processed and dispatched so quickly.

Age 18-45
No felony convictions

Training within the first year
Firefighter 1
Emergency Medical Responder

$10 pay per call starts after your 1 year probationary period.

On May 16 we held our second skills day for our firefighters that are in the Emergency Medical Responder Class. This class focused on airway management, medical and trauma assessments. June 6th will their final skills day before their finals.
