🚧 REQUEST FOR BIDS – HISTORIC SCHOOLHOUSE FOUNDATION REPAIRS 🚧

The Town of Talking Rock is seeking qualified contractors to submit bids for foundation repair and stabilization work on the Historic Talking Rock Schoolhouse.

Due to the historic nature of the building, all interested contractors must be properly licensed and insured and have experience working on historic structures.

Contractors interested in learning more about the project, scheduling a site visit, or requesting additional information should contact the Town Clerk by email at:

All bids and project inquiries must be received no later than July 6, 2026.

The Town of Talking Rock reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to award the project in the best interest of the Town.

Meet 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 ~ part-time celebrity, full-time security detail, and self-appointed Mayor of the morning shift. 🤩

𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 can usually be found strutting his beat, inspecting lawns, supervising traffic, and making sure everyone is up and moving before the coffee kicks in. He’s got a sharp eye, a confident swagger, and absolutely no fear of reminding you who’s in charge. 😎

If you see 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 around town, be sure to give him a friendly wave (from a respectful distance, of course). Just remember… this town is under strict security, and 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 takes his job very seriously!

Today, the 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗸 pauses to 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 the 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 of the United States Armed Forces who made the 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 to our nation.

𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is more than the unofficial start of summer ~ it is a solemn 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 of the 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺𝘀 we enjoy every day. We remember the heroes who never returned home, the families who carry their memories, and the legacy of courage, duty, and selfless service they left behind.
