Last night, we unanimously voted to move forward with considering a one-year moratorium - an immediate halt - on ANY AI data centers in Leon County.

I brought this item forward because decisions of this magnitude deserve careful consideration and time. While emerging technologies offer opportunities, it is our responsibility to fully evaluate the potential impacts on our community, infrastructure, water resources, energy demands, and long-term quality of life before moving forward.

I appreciate my fellow commissioners for supporting this effort unanimously. This is too important of an issue to not get right.
