Yesterday’s news about Tallahassee State College canceling their fall theatre season is a sobering reminder of just how fragile the arts community can be right now.
This weekend, New Stage Theatreworks held a fundraiser event. It was intimate, but every single dollar raised matters immensely. NST receives zero outside funding—we rely 100% on ticket sales and the generosity of our community to keep our lights on and our stage alive.
When big programs face cuts, local, independent theatre becomes even more vital. Now, more than ever, we need to lift each other up, show up for local creative spaces, and give generously whenever possible.
The world needs art. Theatre brings us together, tells our stories, and gives our community a voice—and we can’t do it without you.

What can truly be said about Rachael Kage that hasn’t already been echoed over these last few months and across the years? Independently and alongside Krystof, Rachael has been a foundational pillar of the Tallahassee theatre community for decades.
Whether shining on stage or pouring her heart into work behind the scenes, Rachael has played a role in nearly every single New Stage Theatreworks production over the last 10+ years. Her immeasurable talent, deep passion, and unwavering devotion to local theatre have shaped NST into what it is today, touching countless lives along the way.
We are deeply honored to have Rachael grace the stage with us on Saturday, August 15th for A Celebration of the Life & Legacy of Krystof Kage. Having her perform is a gift, and a powerful testament to the love, artistry, and strength that defines this theatre family.

Whether bringing magic to the music or lighting up the stage, Bradley Gay and Kayla-Elizabeth “Kaylita” Meyzen represent the extraordinary depth of talent that makes our theatre community so special.
Bradley, widely recognized as one of Tallahassee’s premier music directors, is pulling double duty for this special event—not only music directing the performance but also stepping up to share his immense vocal talents. Joining him is Kaylita, who recently wowed NST audiences as Mary Lane in Re**er Madness, stealing the show with her brilliant comedic timing and fearless willingness to take big risks on stage.

From commanding the stage to steering the ship behind the scenes, Cristi Sorensen and Shiloh Elliott embody the heart and resilience of New Stage Theatreworks.

Cristi, who captivated local audiences with her profoundly powerful performance as MJ in our recent summer musical Jagged Little Pill, has graced the NST stage and local Tallahassee venues across numerous memorable productions. Joining her is New Stage Board President Shiloh Elliott, who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes over these past several months to ensure NST honors Krystof’s legacy while remaining strong and positioned to move boldly into the future.

We are deeply grateful to feature both Cristi and Shiloh on Saturday, August 15th for A Celebration of the Life & Legacy of Krystof Kage. Their dedication, artistry, and vision reflect the exact spirit Krystof poured into this company.

Known across the community for their powerhouse vocals and incredible list of theatre credits, both Leslie and Melinda share a storied history with Krystof and New Stage Theatreworks that goes back to the very beginning.

From Shakespearean drama to high-energy comedy, John Campana and Krystof Kage shared the stage across years of unforgettable performances and nearly every genre imaginable. Joining him in this special tribute is New Stage Theatreworks’ board Secretary, Samantha Algaze, who created incredible stage memories alongside Krystof in fan-favorite productions like The Addams Family, Rock of Ages, and Fun Home.

Theatre is all about family, and few show that better than Kelly and Emmett Elliott. Kelly’s deep friendship with Krystof spanned nearly two decades—filled with shared stages, endless laughs, and a bond built on a mutual love for local theatre. Carrying that tradition forward, her son Emmett made history as one of New Stage Theatreworks’ youngest actors ever!
We are so moved to have this mother-son duo taking the stage together on Saturday, August 15th for A Celebration of the Life & Legacy of Krystof Kage. Their performance is a beautiful tribute to years of friendship, multi-generational passion, and the lasting influence Krystof had on young artists and longtime friends alike.
