Alva Smith, Leon County School Board, District 1

Marcus Nicolas, Leon County School Board, District 5

Every election cycle, TBR invites all candidates for local elections to attend interviews to determine which candidates the association will recommend. L. Kyle Rojas, chairman of TBR’s Governmental Affairs Committee, and trained volunteer members from across the district screened the candidates over several days in June and July. They questioned the candidates on a range of topics affecting the county and city, including jobs, affordability, school performance, and teacher retention.

REALTORS® and Affiliates from the Tallahassee Board of REALTORS® braved the heat this week to clean along Shadeville Road between Wakulla Springs Road and Upper Bridge, keeping several pounds of trash from entering the Wakulla River and Wakulla Springs.

Each July, thousands of REALTORS® from all over the state gather to clean up our waterways, working together to protect what makes Florida so special. Our lakes, rivers, and beaches are why you love to live here and the reason people love to move here!

Last year, REALTORS®' July clean-ups across Florida removed 31,476 pounds of trash to protect our environment. The final numbers aren’t in yet, but we celebrated our day in the Florida sun with a dip in the cool, clear waters of Wakulla Springs.
