Leon County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post #15 In our program, which is chartered under the Boy Scouts of America, we mentor and train 14-21 year olds who want to get into the law enforcement field.

This program run by sworn Deputy Sheriff's with the Leon County Sheriff's Office. They mentor, train and instruct students in a variety of areas to include: firearms, defensive tactics, crime scene, critical incident, active shooter, building searches, first aid, traffic stops, report writing, public speaking, community service, traffic control, etc. We teach, a select group of applicants that we

think would make good law enforcement offices in the future or great community leaders in the future.

CONGRATULATIONS, Post 15! The dedication and hard work you've shown over the last several months paid off this week at States, and we are incredibly proud of each of you!
After a week of friendly but fierce competition, tonight's awards ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of Explorers from across the state. We are excited to recognize Post 15 for the following achievements:

🥇 1st Place – Unknown Trouble
🥈 2nd Place – Crime Scene Investigation
🥈 2nd Place – Noah, First Time Shooter Centerfire Division
🥉 3rd Place – Traffic Stops

We also want to give a special congratulations to Ja'Niyah on being elected East Panhandle Vice President! We know you'll represent Post 15 and the East Panhandle with pride, and we can't wait to see all you'll accomplish in this leadership role.

Congratulations to all of our Explorers! Your commitment, teamwork, and professionalism made Post 15 proud this week. The future is bright, and we can't wait to see what's next!

For Day 2 of States, the Explorers dominated Traffic Stops, High Risk Traffic Stops, and Loittering and Prowling scenarios. All scenarios had to be conducted while monitoring a radio and communicating with dispatch. Each scenario had an unknown twist which challenged the Explorers to do their best and they sure did deliver! Way to go, Post 15!

To end the Explorers Academy, a special banquet was hosted for the Explorers and their families to recognize all of their achievements. These youth have dedicated many hours towards learning critical thinking skills, improving their training and overall growth. We’re extremely proud of these young men and women for all they've accomplished and we're excited to see where the future takes them!
