Join us Thursday morning as we hear from Donte Cargill is the Founder and Executive Director of Patricia Ann Cargill Charities, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in need. Under his leadership and the support of both the community and volunteers, the organization has supported more than 61,000 individuals and distributed over 1.4 million pounds of food, helping to address food insecurity and strengthen communities. In addition to their work in food insecurity, Donte and his 11 year-old son- Carter authored The Heart Helpers and Patricia Ann Cargill Charities, a children’s book designed to teach kindness, empathy, leadership, healthy living, and philanthropy.

This past Thursday evening, our club had the opportunity to visit Rotary Camp in Akron for a wonderful evening of fellowship, a delicious cookout, and a tour of the beautiful facilities.

Originally established as a camp for children with polio, Rotary Camp has grown into a year-round resource serving children and adults with special needs. It was inspiring to learn about its history, see the incredible programs it offers throughout the year, and witness the lasting impact it has on so many individuals and families in our community.

It was also great to visit the beneficiary of the Akron Rotary Chili Open, the annual fall fundraiser that helps support this amazing camp.

Thank you to everyone at Rotary Camp for your warm hospitality and for sharing your mission with us.

Join us Thursday EVENING at Rotary Camp for Children with Special Needs

There will not be a morning meeting as it is a 5th Thursday social. We will be touring the camp and joining the campers for a cookout.

Hope, Healing, and Connection
Tyler's Redemption Place is a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) that supports individuals, families, and veterans through connection, peer support, and community-based services. They walk alongside people on their addiction recovery journey and welcome anyone who wants to learn more, get involved, or support our mission. Co-Founder and Board President, Travis Bornstein will be the guest speaker at our meeting this week.

We invite you to join us Thursday morning at Lion's - Rotary hall located at 245 Northeast Ave. Light breakfast and coffee for $5.

We had a great time hanging out with Tallmadge City Schools Resource Officer in the neighborhood today. The rain didn't stop us as we made necklaces, had sno-cones, played games and gave away books. Oh, we also had tons of snacks!
