This spring and summer, the Tallmadge Fire Department and the Tallmadge Auxiliary Police are teaming up to patrol the Freedom Trail! The goal of the program is to strengthen community relations, provide medical aid if needed, and promote trail safety education.

Using one of the department’s Gator vehicles, patrols will cover the trail from Middlebury Road to Brittain Road on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 5:30–7:00 PM (weather permitting).

Along with patrolling the trail, they will also be handing out freebies for adults, kids, and even pups! 🐶

International Firefighters’ Day is observed each year on May 4th. On this day we remember the past firefighters who have died while serving our community or dedicated their lives to protecting the safety of us all.

At the same time, we show our support and appreciation to the firefighters world wide who continue to protect us so well throughout the year. Join us in this worldwide celebration of firefighters!

Twelve members of our Fire Department participated in two days of hands-on, scenario-based training focused on critical skills like search and rescue, ventilation, hose advancement, and door breaching. This training emphasized communication, teamwork, and safety, all key elements in real emergency situations.

A special thank you to Lieutenant Carl Syx for leading this effort, and to Chief Martin and the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department for providing their facility and support. Our firefighters returned more prepared, confident, and ready to serve our community.
