Tallmadge Fire Department The Tallmadge Fire Department proudly serves more than 18,000 residents in the City of Tallmadge, just east of Akron, OH.

Our dedicated team is committed to protecting our community through emergency response, fire prevention, and public safety education. The Tallmadge Fire Department proudly serves this community of 17,000, just east of the City of Akron in Summit County. The division of Fire & EMS provides emergency services to the citizens of Tallmadge, as well as fire prevention and education. The Fire Department

and EMS squads consist of 14 full-time and 45 part-time firefighters and paramedics. The Tallmadge Fire Department is an active participant in the Summit County Special Operations Response Team (SORT).

The Tallmadge Fire Department offers a number of special programs throughout the year to
assist our residents:

• Safety Town, school safety programs and the Children’s Hospital Juvenile Fire Setters Programs

• Business fire safety inspections, fire extinguisher classes and event safety planning

• Senior Lock Box Program and Vial of Life (Click link for forms)

• Akron Children’s Burn Care (ACBC) aluminum can collection site @ Station 1

• Blood Pressure Checks (8 am – 5 pm) and scheduled fire station tours

For the safety of everyone attending our upcoming Circle Festival and Light Parade, bicycles and all motorized vehicles (including golf carts, e-bikes, scooters, and similar vehicles) are not permitted within the Circle Fest event area.

If you plan to ride one of these vehicles to the event, designated parking will be available in the Jubilee Donuts parking lot.

UPDATE: Water main has been repaired. Road will remain closed until road repairs are complete. Thank you for your patience.
Water Main Break - Northeast Avenue closed from Tallmadge Circle to Kent Drive. Residents may experience fluctuation of pressure. Please avoid the area. Use Rite Aid or Town Center as a temporary alternate route to get back to the Circle, if needed.

Please avoid the area and stay away from downed wires!

🚨 Smoke Advisory for Residents 🚨

If you step outside today, you will likely notice a distinct smell of smoke and a hazy, great sky. Please do not be alarmed!

What is happening?
- Smoke from Canadian wildfires has drifted south into Northeast Ohio, triggering a statewide air quality advisory.

When to call 911 ( and when not to)

- Do NOT call 911 just because you smell smoke outdoors or see a general haze over the city. Dispatch lines need to remain open for emergencies.
- Do call 911 if you see an active column of smoke, flames, or have a reason to believe there is an actual fire in your neighborhood.

Safety tips for today:

- Keep windows closed and run your air conditioning on “recirculate” to minimize introducing poor quality outside air.
- Limit outdoor activities. Sensitive groups including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory illnesses should avoid strenuous outdoor activities today.
