Calling all photographers! Youth and adults are invited to showcase their creativity and capture the beauty, meaning, and inspiration of flags flying across our county! Submit up to two original photos to Jake Buchanan, Tama County Economic Development Director at [email protected]. Please include your name, the location where the photo was taken, and your contact information with your submission. Tama County Board of Supervisors will select inspiring entries to be displayed in the Tama County Annex Building. Don’t miss the chance to have your photography featured and celebrate community pride through your lens! Deadline to submit is June 12.

Join us for an inspiring afternoon of patriotic music, storytelling, dance, and community celebration on Sunday, June 14 from 2–4 PM at the Tama County Courthouse lawn & bandstand. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a family-friendly event honoring our nation’s history, flag, and spirit—complete with performances by local talent, community singing, and special appearances inspired by America’s founding story.

🚧 The bridge on Hwy V18 south of 190th (about 1.5 south of Hwy 8) will be down to one lane to mill and resurface with asphalt. This is expected to only take one day. This may take place on either Thursday (5/28) or Friday (5/29) of this week depending on the contractor's availability. We'll update again later with an exact date.

ROAD CLOSED: W Ave north of 150th Street will be closed for the day for a culvert replacement.

ROAD CLOSED: F Ave north of Hwy 30 from Northwood Drive to just north of Warner Drive will be closed in sections for culvert work. This area will be closed off in sections over the next 2-3 weeks.

ROAD CLOSED: 370th Street west of P Ave (the Level B portion) is closed until further notice until we can repair the bridge. 370th east off Hwy E64 will remain open on the rocked portion of the road.

🚧 ROAD CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC 🚧

190th Street east off Hwy 63 is closed to thru traffic. This road is a gravel road that turns into a Level B minimum-maintenance road. With all the rain we've received, that road is now mud. Multiple vehicles are getting stuck. ONLY residents who live on this road are permitted on the rocked portion only. This road is closed to all other traffic.
