The Hillsborough County Tax Collector's office kicked off Donate Life Month today and Mayor Jane Castor presented Louis G. Betz Jr.'s family with a Proclamation by the City of Tampa stating that April 1, 2026 was Louis Betz Jr. Day! We are all carrying on his legacy by advocating for organ donation and continuing to share his story of a second chance at life.

The initiative, recognized as National Donate Life Month, begins Wednesday morning at the East Tampa Tax Collector’s Office, where officials are encouraging residents to register as organ donors.
