If your property is damaged from fallen trees, remember to call 811 to have underground utilities marked before you dig up the tree roots -- they’re often growing near natural gas pipes or other buried utility lines. The underground utility location service is free.

What an inspiring two days of service, partnership and purpose.

We were honored to be part of this incredible partnership that brought local leaders together to support Amanda and her daughters on their journey to homeownership. Thank you to Helen Wesley, President and CEO of Peoples Gas, and Mike Sutton, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside, for helping bring this meaningful collaboration between Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside to life. Their shared vision united leaders across our community.

From installing shelves and closet doors to sharing stories and creating connections, every moment served a greater purpose. Thank you to everyone who helped make something truly special happen.

Peoples Gas is closely monitoring Hurricane Isaias and is prepared to respond to any natural gas emergencies created by the storm or its aftermath. We encourage you to plan ahead.

Natural gas service will likely operate uninterrupted throughout the storm. Customers should leave their natural gas service on, even in the event of an evacuation. Leaving natural gas meters on helps to maintain proper pressure in the gas piping within homes or businesses, and can prevent water from entering the lines should flooding occur.

If at any time you smell a rotten egg or sulfur-like odor, there could be damage to a natural gas line or a natural gas leak. Immediately move to safety – 300 feet or about the length of a football field. Call 911, then call Peoples Gas at 877-832-6747.

For storm safety tips and updates, visit PeoplesGas.com/StormNotifications.

Stay prepared. Stay informed. Stay safe.

Remember: Always avoid driving, walking, or wading through standing water after a storm. Flooding can hide downed electric lines, washed-out roadways, and sharp or hazardous debris. https://ow.ly/egy150ZW2os

Have a natural gas generator? We’d like to know. Report your natural gas generator to help us plan for infrastructure needs: https://ow.ly/pVlt50ZVwQP

More Floridians are installing permanent standby natural gas generators. Unfortunately, they don’t always let us know. We’re collecting this information to help us better serve communities across the state.
