Tropical Depression Two has now developed across the NE Gulf. The system is forecast to slowly strengthen as it moves to the northwest over the next couple of days. The main impact across our area will be a low chance for heavy rainfall leading to localized flooding.

This weekend we continue to educate the community on hurricane preparedness at the West River Freedom, Food, and Fitness Fest. It was an excellent community event promoting wellness and education.

Dangerous heat continues today, with feels like temperatures of up to 110 degrees.

There will also be a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening. The primary risk will be damaging wind gusts.

Expect elevated noise activity for the next two weeks near MacDill and around Tampa Bay due to a scheduled training opportunity consisting of F-18 aircraft. Peak hours for elevated noise will be around 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
