Six Colombian nationals have been brought to Tampa to face federal drug‑trafficking charges following multiple HSTF‑Tampa investigations.
The Homeland Security Task Force is a powerful partnership of federal, state, and local agencies working together to dismantle transnational criminal cartels, foreign gangs, and human smuggling and trafficking networks operating in the U.S. and abroad.

As part of Operation Summer Heat 2.0, an initiative to crush violent crime in our communities, FBI Tampa joined U.S. Attorney's Office-Middle District FL & Polk County Sheriff's Office to highlight the disruption of a bank fraud conspiracy orchestrated by a neighborhood gang known as the TRAP BOYS.
What began as an investigation into violent acts--- drive by shootings, drug trafficking-- led investigators to uncover a complex bank fraud scheme. Nineteen individuals have pleaded guilty to bank fraud conspiracy.
