Meet Pretty Girl!✨

Pretty Girl arrived at PRC in mid March after her family could no longer care for her. She’s a young, playful, toy-loving pup. She’s the type of girl who knows what she likes, especially when it comes to friends — she prefers smaller dog groups and calm canine companions.

🌟 Her Favorite Things:
• Tossing squeaky toys in the air like the true superstar she is
• Kiddie pools, hose spray, and splashy adventures
• Rolling in the grass with a toy tucked between her paws
• Sitting proudly beside you for pets and quiet moments
• Exploring gardens like they’re her own secret world

💗 Medical Note: She’s heartworm positive, but don’t worry — her full treatment is provided at no cost by PRC for her future family.

🏡 What She Needs:
A stable, patient home that understands she shines brightest when things are calm and predictable. Someone who sees the pretty soul behind the stress and gives her the chance to be the happy, confident girl she truly is.

Laveno Goes Dock Diving! 🌊

A few weeks ago, our sweet boy Laveno had the cutest dock diving adventure! He needed a little lift into the van, but once he arrived, his confidence kicked in.

He zoomed around the yard and bravely tested out the pool ramp. 🐾

He dipped his paws, paddled a few steps, and then decided swimming joyful laps was more his style — and honestly, it was adorable.

After his big day of exploring, splashing, and chasing his friend, he rode back like the happy adventurer he is.

Laveno loved his outing and we loved seeing him shine! 💛🌟

CHRISTMAS IN JULY WITH BUDDY THE ELF! ✨🎄

Guess what, Hillsborough? It’s Christmas in July, and we’ve got our very own Buddy the Elf spreading cheer through the PRC admin offices!

He may not be from the North Pole, but this 10‑year‑old senior sweetheart definitely believes in Elf Rule #1:Treat every day like Christmas

Our Buddy:
• Greets everyone with joyful enthusiasm
• Accepts treats as gently as if they were made of candy canes
• Walks politely through the “workshop” (aka PRC) with no pulling
• Loves people more than toys
• Knows sit, shake, paw, and will lean in for love like it’s his job
• Is calm, low‑key, and wonderfully easy to be around

Buddy arrived on December 23, 2025, and despite some medical concerns, he’s kept the holiday spirit alive all year long. In foster homes he was affectionate, curious, house‑trained, gentle, and a total delight.

Our Christmas-in-July wish? A cozy home where he can spend his golden years enjoying cuddles, snack time, and being someone’s companion.

He’s waiting with a waggy tail, soft smile, and enough cheer to make every day feel festive.

A 12 Year Young Gentleman Searching for His Soft Landing 🐾💛

Rosco didn’t arrive at the shelter because he did anything wrong. In mid March, this sweet senior boy was lovingly surrendered when his owner who could no longer physically care for him due to age and health challenges. It was a heartbreaking decision rooted in love, and Rosco is now hoping someone out there has room in their heart and home for a gentle old soul who still has so much affection to give.

At 12 years young, Rosco is the definition of calm, wise companionship. Volunteers say he walks beautifully on leash, takes his time sniffing the world, and moves with the easy grace of a dog who knows what truly matters in life: sunshine, quiet moments, and kind hands.

Rosco has a good history with other dogs and meets new people kindly. He’s house trained, leash trained, and has lived his whole life being someone’s loyal companion. Now, he’s simply hoping for a soft, warm, loving place to spend the beautiful years he still has ahead.

If your home has room for a a gentle friend who asks for very little but gives back a world of love, Rosco is waiting for you.

The TRILINGUAL Queen of Fun! 🐾🎉
English? Yes. Spanish? Sí. Portuguese? Sim.

Fiona is a two year old superstar understands all three — and she’s ready to impress her future family with her multilingual magic!

Fiona was surrendered in early March, and she’s been charming everyone ever since. She’s social with other dogs, loves meeting new people, and brings a burst of joyful energy everywhere she goes.

Out in the yard, Fiona is a playful explorer:
• She zooms around checking every corner.
• She LOVES water time
• She knows cues and responds beautifully during training — especially when you ask her in the right language.
• She sits like a pro and accepts treats gently.

Fiona is smart, social, expressive, and full of heart. Whether you say “sit,” “siéntate,” or “senta,” this brilliant girl is ready to listen and ready to love.

The Pool Party King! 🎾🌊

Jaxon is a 3 year old stray who arrived in early February, and ever since then he’s been determined to prove one thing: life is better when you're having a blast.

This joyful boy meets every day with a full body wag. He’s always at the gate waiting with bright eyes, a big bark hello, and enough enthusiasm to power the whole shelter. He can’t wait to get to his favorite place: the yard, the toys, and especially the pool.

Once outside, Jaxon becomes a one dog splash zone. He’ll cannonball into the kiddie pool, roll dramatically in the water, chomp at the splashes he creates, and hop back out only long enough to grab another toy.

Some of his greatest hits:
• Treat chasing with the seriousness of a professional athlete
• Shredding stuffed toys with unshakeable determination
• Sitting politely (and sometimes loudly) to solicit snacks
• Perching on your lap like he weighs three pounds
• Wiggling nonstop — seriously, nonstop

Jaxon is social with people, curious about other dogs, and full of heart. He’s the kind of pup who makes every day sillier.
