SQUIRREL ALERT! The zoomiest, softest, most wiggly little adventure buddy at PRC!

If you’ve ever yelled “SQUIRREL!” in excitement? This boy fully embodies that energy. A young adult with a big heart, soft coat, and a goofy grin, Squirrel is the perfect mix of silly enthusiasm and sweet sensitivity.

🐾 He’s social with other dogs and loves making new friends
🐾 Known for his initial “wiggle n pull” greeting, he quickly settles into being an absolute pro on adventures.
🐾 Loves splashing in water, rolling in sand, exploring all the smells, and soaking up nonstop affection.
🐾 In the car? Total angel. Riding like he’s living his best life.
🐾 In stores? Curious, excited, but easily redirected — he just wants to see EVERYTHING.

Sure, he’s still learning the finer points of leash walking, but he’s incredibly eager to please and picks things up quickly. With a little patience and practice, he’ll be your trail partner.

Squirrel is ready to spring out of the shelter and into a home full of adventure, enrichment, and love.

Meet Mermaid! Our gentle little sea sweetheart! ✨🌊

This 4 year old beauty drifted into PRC back in May like a shy seashell washed ashore, and she’s been slowly discovering that land life can be filled with love, calm walks, and so many cuddles. 💙

In her foster home, Mermaid blossomed even more:
• Loves being close to her people
• Navigates stairs like a pro
• Relaxed during thunderstorms
• Enjoyed toys and cozy naps
• Slept calmly in her crate

She’ll need a little time to adjust in a new home, but once she trusts you? This girl is ALL HEART. 💞
Mermaid is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, but PRC will guide her adopters every step of the way and provide the remainder of her treatment. She’ll need a calm, restful lifestyle while she completes treatment — think peaceful strolls, quiet evenings, and lots of magical mermaid snuggles. 🌙🐚

Our Sweet Pup Waiting for His Den

Bear came back to us in late March, and ever since, he’s been the gentlest little woodland wanderer you’ll ever meet. He greets you with a soft tail wag, then trots out to the yard like he’s exploring his very own forest trail.

Once he’s settled, Bear becomes a full on snuggle creature. Hopping onto benches, curling into laps, leaning in for ear rubs, belly scratches, and every bit of affection he can gather. He knows his cues, takes treats kindly, loves sniffing, splashing, exploring, and being right beside his person.

He’s a young senior with a big heart, a gentle soul, and a love for anyone willing to sit with him under the “trees” and enjoy the moment.

If you’re looking for a cozy, cuddly woodland companion to fill your home with warmth, Bear is ready to wander into his forever den. 🌿💛

Meet Dwight! Assistant to the Regional Snuggler❤️💼

Dwight has been at the shelter for over 130 days, which is basically several Dundie Awards’ worth of waiting. And honestly? He thinks that’s absurd. In classic Dwight fashion, he has filed a formal complaint with HR (Hound Resources).

Just like his namesake, Dwight takes his job very seriously:
• Jump enthusiastically when someone approaches
• Conduct rigorous sniff investigations
• Solicit pets with laser focused intensity
• Sit directly on your lap whether you asked or not
• Zoomies. Many, many zoomies.

He may occasionally get a little too excited and bop you with a paw or boop you with his nose. Dwight is a “hands on” employee. But give him a moment and he settles right in for cuddles, leans, and full body affection.

Dwight doesn’t want to spend another day waiting for his forever family to promote him to Full Time Household Companion. He’s smart, silly, loyal, and ready to be your quirky sidekick.

🎃👻 Spooky Sweetheart Alert! Meet Pinto! 👻🎃

Looking for a treat this Halloween? Pinto is the four-year-old pup who’s been brewing up love at the shelter since last October! 🐾

This silly boy is ready to haunt your home with zoomies, cuddles, and a big, wagging tail. Pinto’s favorite tricks include “sit,” “paw,” and “cuddle.” He’s still working on “down,” but he’ll gladly accept treats for effort! 🍬

He’s a licker with a tongue that could rival any ghost’s sheet, and he’ll roll around on your couch like a pumpkin in a patch. Pinto loves fetch, squeaky toys, and splashing in the pool! 🌊

If you’re looking for a loyal companion to join your Halloween adventures (and every day after), Pinto is ready to cast a spell on your heart! 🧡
