The has published new guidance which allow for tattoos on the back of neck, hands and behind the ear. This directive eases tattoo restrictions to reflect what is accepted within society and amongst the who serve. The changes do not lower service admission standards, but instead, will allow individuals who meet all other qualifications for appointment or enlistment the opportunity to serve. The changes also support the Army’s People Strategy, our number one priority, by offering Soldiers options for appearance that take into account professional appearance and good order and discipline.

Tampa Recruiting Battalion held a Future Soldier Recognition Event at Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk, June 23. The ceremony was to thank the future Soldiers, family, friends and veterans for their selfless service to their Nation and the US Army.

Special guests included Dr. Peter Tan, CASA, Roger Trout, Army Reserve Ambassador, CSM John Foley, USAREC, Chaplain COL Khalid Shabazz, CENTCOM and a special video message from MG Kevin Vereen, Commanding Officer USAREC.

Tampa Bay area future team members took to the field on Saturday for conditioning training and to ready themselves for Basic Combat Training. These future Soldiers will soon wear the title of # Army . They will learn teamwork, discipline, rappel and march and combat arms.
