Our Project Return, Inc. artists recently had the honor of sharing their talents with the Live Life Even with Cancer Gala by donating original artwork to help support this inspiring event.

Celebrating life and recognizing the healing power of music and the arts is something that closely aligns with Project Return’s mission. Our artists were proud to contribute their creativity to an evening dedicated to hope, healing, and community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support an organization that shares our belief that art has the power to uplift, connect, and inspire. Thank you to Live Life Even with Cancer for including Project Return in this meaningful celebration.

We're honored to be recognized!

Project Return was recently nominated for the Karen Jacobs – Accessibility For All: Outstanding Accessible Places Award at the ADA Celebration held at the Straz Center.

It was a true honor to be considered alongside so many incredible organizations committed to making our community more accessible and inclusive. While we didn't take home the award, we are proud that our center was recognized for creating a welcoming space where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Representing Project Return at the event were Board Member Deb and Director of Operations Madison, who enjoyed an inspiring evening filled with outstanding speakers and performances celebrating accessibility and inclusion from across the Tampa Bay area.

Congratulations to all of this year's nominees and award recipients, and thank you to the organizers of the ADA Celebration for recognizing the importance of accessible spaces throughout our community. We remain committed to creating an environment where every person feels welcomed, valued, and empowered.

Hurricane Season Is Here

It’s completely normal to feel anxious as hurricane season begins, especially when severe weather is in the forecast. One of the best ways to manage that anxiety is through preparation and reliable information.

Take some time now to review your hurricane plan, gather emergency supplies, and make sure you know where to find trusted updates if a storm approaches.

For local, up to the minute weather information, we recommend following Tampa Bay meteorologist Denis Phillips, whose clear, calm reporting helps our community stay informed and prepared.

Remember: being prepared doesn’t mean expecting the worst. It means giving yourself the knowledge and tools to stay safe.

Stay aware. Stay prepared. Stay connected.

June is PTSD Awareness Month. 💚

Experiencing trauma can have lasting effects on a person’s mental health, relationships, and daily life. PTSD can develop after a wide range of difficult experiences, and no two people’s journeys look exactly the same.

Some people may experience intrusive memories, heightened anxiety, trouble sleeping, emotional numbness, or a desire to avoid reminders of a traumatic event. These challenges can feel overwhelming, but support is available.

The good news is that recovery is possible. With the right combination of treatment, support, and coping tools, people living with PTSD can find healing and hope.

If you or someone you care about may be struggling with PTSD, consider taking a free confidential screening: https://www.ptsd.va.gov/screen/

In Tampa Bay, the top barriers to receiving mental health care are cost and lack of insurance coverage. Too many people still struggle to access the support they need.

That’s why Project Return exists: to provide an accepting community focused on recovery, connection, dignity, and support. Our member-driven environment helps individuals enrich their lives while knowing they are never alone in their journey.

27% of Tampa Bay residents reported feeling isolated because of their mental or emotional condition in a recent Tampa Bay Thrives study. Loneliness and isolation can have a major impact on mental wellness, which is why connection matters so much.

Project Return is dedicated to creating a welcoming space where members can connect through friendship, art, shared experiences, and meaningful daily activities. Every conversation, class, and smile helps remind someone they belong.
