Today was a very special day at the Italian Club of Tampa! 🇮🇹 We are incredibly proud to congratulate Le Donne Italiane on the tremendous success of their inaugural meeting, which welcomed nearly 80 women to the Club today!

Seeing our building filled with so many women meeting one another, making new connections, sharing ideas, and talking about the future of this new organization was truly exciting. The enthusiasm and energy throughout the room made one thing very clear: Le Donne Italiane has an incredibly bright future ahead.

This new chapter represents so much of what the Italian Club is about — bringing people together, strengthening our community, celebrating our Italian culture and traditions, and creating opportunities for the next generation to become part of our Club and its future.

To every woman who attended today, GRAZIE for being part of this important first step. And to everyone who helped bring Le Donne Italiane from an idea to what we witnessed today, congratulations on an incredible launch! We cannot wait to see where you take it from here.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FRIEND & NEIGHBOR, CRISTAL LASTRA! — Join us as we congratulate our friend, fellow Club member, and Ybor City neighbor, Cristal Lastra, on two extraordinary and well-deserved honors! We are proud to celebrate Cristal and her commitment to Ybor City’s rich cultural heritage and community. Ybor City has always been more than a collection of buildings and organizations—it is a community. Our Italian, Spanish, Cuban, and other immigrant traditions have grown alongside one another for generations, and supporting our neighbors and celebrating their accomplishments is an important part of keeping that community strong.

On Saturday, August 29, our friends and neighbors at the Centro Asturiano de Tampa will honor Cristal as their 2026 Jinete Award recipient during the annual Día de Asturias celebration. Cristal will also receive The Royal Order of Isabella the Catholic, one of Spain’s highest civilian distinctions, presented by the Embassy of Spain in recognition of her dedication to preserving Spanish culture and heritage in Tampa. Please join us in congratulating Cristal on these incredible accomplishments and well-deserved honors!

CALLING ALL MARKET VENDORS! - Join us at the Italian Club of Tampa's Festa della Famiglia – Annual Open House & Membership Drive on Saturday, September 12, from 12:00–4:00 p.m., and showcase your business to hundreds of local families, members, and guests! Our indoor artisan market will be held inside the Club's beautiful historic 2nd Floor Theater, providing a comfortable, climate-controlled space to connect with shoppers throughout the afternoon.

Vendor spaces are just $30 and include a 10' x 10' space, one 8-foot table, and a linen. Whether you sell handcrafted goods, artwork, specialty foods, boutique items, home décor, jewelry, or unique products and services, we'd love to have you join us for this exciting community event.

YOU'RE INVITED TO CONOSCIAMOCI – HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF LE DONNE ITALIANE - Join us on Saturday, August 15, from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Italian Club of Tampa for the inaugural gathering of Le Donne Italiane. The Italian Club of Tampa is located at 1731 E. 7th Avenue, in historic Ybor City. This isn't simply a meet-and-greet—it's the first step in building a new organization together. Following a relaxed social hour with light refreshments and a cash bar, we'll begin the important work of establishing the foundation for Le Donne Italiane. Together, we'll discuss the organization's vision, explore ideas for future programs, events, and activities, and begin developing a roadmap for future meetings and initiatives. The women in attendance will help shape the direction, purpose, and culture of this exciting new program from the very beginning.

While Italian Club membership is required to officially become a member of Le Donne Italiane, women who are interested in learning more are warmly encouraged to attend this introductory gathering.
As part of this inaugural event, a special membership opportunity will be available. Women who join the Italian Club during Conosciamoci will receive the remainder of 2026 at no additional cost, with their membership extending through all of 2027.

Whether you're looking to reconnect with your Italian heritage, build new friendships, or help create a meaningful organization for women at the Italian Club, this is your opportunity to become one of its founding voices. We hope you'll join us as we begin this exciting journey together.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BREAKROOM ENTERTAINMENT! - A huge congratulations to our resident theater company, Breakroom Entertainment, on the incredible success of their recent production, Ava Rice: The 8th Sin! Over its two-week run in our historic theater, the show drew the largest audiences Breakroom has seen since making the Italian Club their home—a fantastic accomplishment and one that speaks volumes about the talent, creativity, and dedication of everyone involved.

It was especially exciting to see so many Italian Club members in the audience. More members attended this production than any previous Breakroom show, and that's something worth celebrating. Supporting one another and sharing experiences like live theater is what our Club is all about.
One of the things that makes this partnership so special is that our historic theater is continuing to serve the purpose it was built for more than a century ago. It was designed to bring people together through live performances, and thanks to Breakroom Entertainment, that tradition is not only alive—it's thriving. Having a resident theater company regularly filling our stage with laughter, creativity, and outstanding performances is something truly unique, and it's an honor to see our theater being enjoyed the way it was always intended.

Congratulations to the entire cast, crew, creative team, and volunteers for an outstanding production. Thank you for helping keep the performing arts alive at the Italian Club and in Ybor City! We can't wait to see what you bring to our stage next!
