Florida Guardian ad Litem - Circuit 13 volunteers are amazing in many ways. Kelsey Grimmer not only serves as a Guardian ad Litem Volunteer, she's also a trained dog handler for the Courthouse Facility Dog Program. She and her dog Barley are making a positive difference in the lives of the abused, abandoned, and neglected children our Office helps represent by helping them during difficult times.
The Courthouse Facility Dog Program, started and run by the local nonprofit, Voices for Children, helps children who are providing courtroom testimony or depositions or having forensic interviews or medical exams. The dogs provide a calming presence, helping children during these stressful and scary situations. The program began in 2014. Since then, it has helped thousands of children.
Thank you, Kelsey and Barley, for all you do!
