Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem - Circuit 13 Representing Hillsborough County’s abused, neglected, and abandoned children. We continually need people to make this happen for the children in your community.

The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office represents Florida’s abused, abandoned, and neglected children in the courtroom and the community. Through the collaboration of a multi-disciplinary team that includes an attorney, a trained volunteer, and a certified child advocate manager, our team provides quality legal representation for the best interests of abused, neglected, and abandoned children while assisting the child in expressing their needs and wishes. Our unique approach allows us to support the whole child, addressing their physical, educational, mental, emotional, social, and legal needs. Young Man Looking for Male Mentor in Hillsborough County

At 16, he’s already thinking about what he wants for his future and working toward some great goals, including earning his GED, exploring HVAC and welding certifications, and learning more about opportunities through Job Corps.

He is looking for a caring, dependable male role model who can spend time with him, encourage his goals, share life experiences, and help him develop the skills and confidence he needs as he prepares for adulthood.

You don’t have to have all the answers. Sometimes, simply showing up, listening, and being a positive role model can make a lasting impact.

Domestic violence can have a lasting impact on children, affecting their emotional well-being and sense of safety. Helping them heal is an important step toward a brighter future.

The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office represents the legal interests of these children in court and in the community, advocating for their safety, well-being and permanency. Our team, including Guardian ad Litem Volunteers and mentors, plays an important role in supporting these children and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

The Florida Guardian ad Litem Office – Circuit 13 congratulates Guardian ad Litem Attorney, Seana Soika for recently passing the Florida Bar. Circuit Court Judge Robert Bauman presided over the swearing-in ceremony welcoming our newest attorney to the legal profession. Members of the Circuit 13 Guardian ad Litem team attended this ceremony in support of Ms. Soika, marking this significant milestone in her legal career. Congratulations Seana on being admitted to The Florida Bar.

Meet the Leadership of our Florida Guardian ad Litem Office CHAMPIONS!

Our Florida Guardian ad Litem Office CHAMPIONS are helping turn personal experience into purpose — and we are proud to introduce Robert Hurley, Chair, and Amberlynn Oswold, Vice-Chair.

Robert Hurley | Chair
Robert is one of the original members of our Florida Guardian ad Litem Office CHAMPIONS. After entering foster care at age nine, he went on to attend Stanford University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology: Biochemistry and Biophysics. Now back in Florida, Robert is using his perspective and experiences to help strengthen the future for children and young adults in care.

Amberlynn Oswold | Vice-Chair
Amberlynn entered foster care at age eight and has turned her experiences into a commitment to helping improve the systems that support children and families. She currently works as an Assistant Property Manager while studying Communications and Journalism and plans to attend law school.

Together, Robert and Amberlynn bring strong leadership, thoughtful perspective, and a shared commitment to creating meaningful change for Florida’s children and young adults in care.
