🚒💧 Four replacements. One stronger HCFR.

Our fleet modernization continues with the delivery of four replacement water tankers, ensuring our firefighters have reliable, up-to-date apparatus to serve our community.

These specialized vehicles are essential in areas of Hillsborough County where fire hydrants aren't available. Designed to transport thousands of gallons of water directly to emergency scenes, they provide the critical water supply firefighters need to quickly establish and sustain fire suppression operations.

Replacing aging apparatus helps keep our fleet dependable, enhances operational readiness, and ensures we're prepared to answer the call, whether it's in one of our urban neighborhoods or our rural communities.

🚒 This morning, responded to a vehicle crash involving two apartment units on Palm Bay Drive in Palm River.

At 9:38 AM, crews arrived to find a vehicle had backed into one apartment before pulling forward into a second, causing significant structural damage to both buildings.

The quickly secured the scene, evacuated both buildings, and searched for occupants. Two pediatric patients, both occupants of one of the impacted apartment units, were transported to a local hospital in serious condition. Crews also safely rescued a dog from one of the evacuated apartments.

The incident remains under investigation.

🚒 Working Fire Quickly Contained in Tampa

Yesterday, responded to a working residential structure fire on N. 16th Street in Tampa.

The first-arriving crew encountered heavy fire and smoke coming from the single-story home and immediately initiated an aggressive fire attack. Firefighters advanced hand lines into the structure while additional crews conducted primary and secondary searches, confirming no occupants were inside the residence. The fire was brought under control in less than 20 minutes.

There were no reported injuries.

Every fire reminds us why rapid response, teamwork, and training matter. We're proud of the dedication our firefighters bring to protecting our community every day.

Week 2 🔥🚒

Recruit Class 26-02 spent the week building confidence in some of the fire service’s core skills, including forcible entry, search and rescue, and ladder deployment.

Each evolution challenged them to communicate, work as a team, and continue sharpening the fundamentals they’ll rely on in the field. Another week down, and the work continues. 💪
