The Tampa Police Benevolent Association has established a charitable fund to help Master Patrol Officer Tyler O’Donnell during his recovery from an accident yesterday. Tyler was on his patrol motorcycle when he was struck by another driver and seriously injured. He is in the hospital and has a long road to recovery and getting better.

We are asking for a donation from everyone who can read this message.

PRAYERS for one of our own who was seriously injured in a car vs motorcycle accident today while on duty! The driver of the car was not injured and will be cited. Please join us in sending our thoughts and prayers to our member and officer who is recovering in the hospital but it will be a long road ahead!!!

Happy Cyber Monday shopping! We had several items left over from the auction at this year's golf tournament. I have created this online auction which will run through Monday, December 5th at Noon. All proceeds raised from this auction will go directly into the Charity account which helps our officers and their families in the event that an officer is critically injured or killed in the line of duty. A solemn morning at the unveiling of the MPO Jesse Madsen and fallen officer memorial statute… “Taking a Stance, 2022.” This memorial will live at TPD District 1 and was created through an effort led by Steve Rogai and his foundation that honors and promotes law enforcement throughout the area. We are humbled by the effort and honored that the community has rallied around Jesse in such an amazing way! Thank you to everyone involved!

LIFE OF SERVICE

Congrats to Senior Corporal Gary Price for reaching his retirement milestone! Gary is a friend and servant leader who will be missed greatly. After retiring with 20+ years in the Army, he served four years at the Lee County Sheriff's Office before transitioning to us. At TPD he gave over 20 years and he has served in all three districts, Quad, DLIS, air service, homicide, and recently as a patrol corporal in D1.

Thanks you Senior Corporal! You will will be missed!

Tonight is bittersweet with the reveal of Jesse Madsen's Memorial. Beautiful memorial with a lot of thought, heart and soul put into it. Also a lot of metal. Taking A Stance exactly was Jesse was all about that night and always. Thank you to all those that made this happen especially Steve Rogai and Dominique Martinez for making the magic happen. Very emotional but well worth it!

Rest In Peace —- Deputy Michael Hartwick

It is with extraordinary sadness that Pinellas County Sheriff announces that Deputy Michael Hartwick was killed in the line of duty late Thursday evening as a result of a hit and run crash on I-275 in St. Petersburg. The suspect is still at large.

Deputy Hartwick is survived by his two adult sons. We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Deputy Hartwick’s family during this difficult time. Please keep his loved ones along with our PCSO family in your thoughts and prayers.

Today we attended 9-11 events at multiple locations to remember those first responders and citizens who paid the ultimate price for freedom without knowing that fateful day 21 years ago today would be their last. I have had three races in my life and I have had three endorsements from our Tampa first responders: Tampa Firefighters Local 754 in 2016, 2019 and 2023 and Tampa Police Benevolent Association - Tampa PBA in 2016, 2019 and 2023.

In 2016, Tampa Firefighters endorsed me two weeks after I filed in a race with six people in the race. I was a first time candidate - but with a long-time relationship with them. They knew me and trusted me and took the heat and endorsed.

Ever since then, I have always been proud to have our first responders in Tampa trust me. I fight for public safety and first responders because it’s part of my values and political DNA. It doesn’t change.

They know that I will fight for them and what’s best for public safety. I really always appreciate their trust. Our City supports our first responders - our police and fire.

As I close this election, I say thank you again to Tsmpa’s first responders for your trust.

Now, let’s get that Public Safety Master Plan completed and fully funded! 👍

Good times today meeting with the Tampa Police Benevolent Association - Tampa PBA. Our City of Tampa is a community that supports our police.

Public safety is issue number one for local government. I am proud of the work the men and women of law enforcement and our Tampa Police do every day. Since day one, I have been committed to supporting those who run into dangerous crises - our police officers and firefighters - that most of us run away from. Our Tampa Police officers are cut from a tradition of protecting and serving that is honorable and often spans generations in single families and I am always proud to have their trust. Had a great time supporting Tampa Bay Area law enforcement officers. Our team did awesome, and I came in 2nd out of our team with the Tampa Police Benevolent Association - Tampa PBA

I attended todays signing ceremony for a three year union contract pay raise of 18.5% for most of our city workers.

This is a pay raise I was proud to support. That means 18.5% more for our transportation workers, sanitation workers, police officers, firefighters and parks workers.

Take it from me as someone who has seen this up close: these men and women bust their behinds and work hard for Tampa. I was proud to vote yes and support this raise specifically.

Council members Joe Citro, Charlie Miranda, Lynn Hurtak and Guido Maniscalco came in support and joined Mayor Castor. Presidents and leadership teams from Tampa Police Benevolent Association - Tampa PBA, Tampa Firefighters Local 754 and ATU Local 1593 Tampa came in support.

I was proud to come to celebrate this victory for our city workers - people who work hard every day and deserve to be respected on the job. 👍

Mayor Jane Castor and Tampa City Council gathered to celebrate the signing of the new three-year contracts for Tampa Police Benevolent Association - Tampa PBA, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1464, Inc., and IAFF Tampa Firefighters Local 754. The city's three unions represent more than 75% of the City's 4,500 employees. Our dedicated staff is second to none, and we are so thankful for their hard work day in and day out! 👏

I am grateful for the work this week of our City workers - that means Tampa Police Department/Tampa Police Benevolent Association - Tampa PBA, Tampa Fire Rescue/Tampa Firefighters Local 754 and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1464, Inc.

Our neighborhood improvement workers worked well over ten hours each day putting sandbags together (trust me, that’s not easy work - after two hours I needed a ten hour break!) for lines stretching a mile and our sanitation and other general workers are here for the hard work of clean up. Our police officers, firefighters and first responders were here for the dangerous work of keeping order and keeping us safe in a time of widespread panic. They all prepared for the worst.

One of the greatest benefits of being an elected is seeing how hard working our City staff is. And when our City is in trouble, they step up like heroes.

I’m thankful for them as well as our front line workers with our State of Florida, Hillsborough County, Temple Terrace and Plant City. 👍🇺🇸❤️

I came by the annual Tampa Police Benevolent Association - Tampa PBA golf tournament luncheon fundraiser for the Police Memorial fund. This fund assists families of police officers who were killed in the line of duty. For me, there is no better cause. 👍
