Our members responded to 5 calls for service yesterday, with 2 being fires.

Around 230 PM, Pocono Township Fire was requested for tankers to a working brush and structure fire in West End.

Around 4 PM, Pocono Township Fire RIT was requested to East Stroudsburg for a working commercial structure fire. Tower 34 responded within 3 minutes, and Tanker 34 responded several minutes later after clearing the fire in West End.

Crews assisted with ladder and aerial placement, forcible entry, accountability, fire suppression, water supply, ventilation, overhaul, and salvage.

We are happy to work alongside our neighboring fire companies and appreciate the teamwork by all on these incidents.

Overnight, our members responded to a working tractor trailer fire on Interstate 80 - Eastbound. The fire was quickly placed under control with no extension to the trailer.

Jackson Township Fire Company, PA State Police, and St Luke’s EMS were also on scene. Crews assisted with traffic control for the tow company during cleanup as well.

Our members have been staying busy again this week.

Sunday - MedEvac landing at our firehouse
Monday - 2 automatic fire alarms
Tuesday - 1 brush fire, 1 working structure fire, 1 RIT assignment for a commercial structure fire, and 1 automatic fire alarm

One structure fire on Tuesday was around 130 PM in a mutual aid area, and was reported with flames showing and entrapment. Rescue Engine 34 responded with 3 personnel within 2 minutes, and was on scene in 9 minutes. Tanker 34 was enroute shortly after with another 5 personnel.

On Tuesday, our members also assisted with fixing a flag pole using Tower 34 and used the time for driver and operator training.

Early Tuesday morning, Pocono and Jackson Township firefighters were dispatched to the Interstate 80/380 West split for an MVA into a tree with heavy entrapment. Crews were on scene for over an hour as the patient was extricated and the vehicle cleaned up. Pocono Summit Vol. Fire Company established a landing zone for MedEvac at Kalahari Resort.

Late Tuesday evening, Pocono Township firefighters were requested to assist Pocono Mountain Vol. Fire Company with a brush fire approximately 2 acres in size along the 611 corridor. Brush 34, Brush 34-2, Utility 34, UTV 34, Tanker 34-2, Command 1, and Command 3 were on scene for several hours.
