Over the last 6 days, our firefighters have responded to 2 working fires in Pocono Township.

Over the weekend, Station 34 was dispatched to a possible shed fire, but first arriving units found 2 ATVs fully involved with fire extending to the porch. PTPD and chief apparatus were able to keep the fire in check until RE34 and other units arrived, with minimal extension to the dwelling.

Early this morning, Station 34 was dispatched to The Crossings Premium Outlets for a commercial structure fire. A fire was found in the restaurant and the call was placed under control shortly after arrival.

Part of being effective in responding to emergencies is how you prepare for them. Several nights ago, our members were able to pre-plan a commercial building in Barrett Township along with Barrett Township Vol. Fire Company. We are thankful for the opportunity to train and work with our surrounding fire companies!

This afternoon, Station 34 was dispatched along with Station 27 for a working vehicle fire on Interstate 80 West in Jackson Township. Stations 41 and 42 were also dispatched about 10 minutes prior due to misinformation on the original 911 call, putting the location in Tobyhanna Township.

All stations’ apparatus arrived and worked together to put the vehicle fire and small brush fire on the shoulder of the highway under control. No injuries were reported.
