🍦 Ice cream, great company, music 🎸. What could be better?

Senior Ice Cream Socials are always among our favorite legislative events! This week, we enjoyed visiting our friends at Belmont Knolls and K**b Crest.

Josh from the Attorney General’s Office shared helpful information about senior scams and how to avoid them. We also enjoyed ice cream, conversation, and wonderful music from Roy Ramos.

We ended the afternoon with a sing-along to “Islands in the Stream,” a special tribute to the beloved Dolly Parton. ❤️

A special thank you to my staff, Latisha, Damali, Danielle, and Bryce, who served up the sundaes with a smile! 🍨😊

Celebrating ESU’s New University Center

I was pleased to have Damali, Danielle and Bryce represent our office at East Stroudsburg University’s ribbon cutting for the new University Center.

ESU is especially meaningful, as I had the privilege of teaching there before serving in the State House. It was also wonderful to have members of my team there who have their own connections to ESU.

I'm excited to see how the new University Center will bring the ESU community together and serve students, faculty, and staff for years to come.

If there is one bright spot to come out of the data center issue, it’s that everyone is paying attention to the environment now. That’s a good thing.

The 2025-2026 Environmental Scorecard is here!

The Scorecard tracked 16 bills passed by the State House – 15 of which lower electric bills, put guardrails on AI data centers, protect clean water, expand clean energy, and strengthen democracy.

The State Senate blocked all but one of these bills.

🌿💧 WHAT WE’RE FIGHTING TO PROTECT 💧🌿
Large-scale data center development is proposed next door in Clifton and Covington Township, and there’s much at stake.

Here’s the follow-up video from my tour of the Barton Family property a couple of weeks ago.

The Barton Family has protected more than 700 acres of pristine land for over a century. Walking this beautiful property with more than 50 community members showed us exactly what we’re fighting to protect.

Thank you to North Pocono CARE for organizing the walk and for all they do to protect our clean water and the Lehigh River watershed.

🤝 Community | 💙 Recovery | 🏡 115th

Yesterday, I was pleased to join community members, fellow elected officials and community leaders at the Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and grand opening of NorthBound & Co., a community recovery center providing peer support, recovery resources and connections to treatment and other services for people and families affected by addiction.

I’m delighted to see NorthBound open another location right here in Monroe County, in the heart of the 115th Legislative District. I am a strong advocate for legislation that helps people struggling with addiction get the treatment and support they need. Last year, I championed legislation to expand access to medication-assisted treatment, which was included in the 2025-26 state budget. I am a strong supporter of the important work NorthBound is doing in our community.

Thank you to the remarkable staff at the Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce for putting together such a wonderful celebration of this much-needed resource.

Protecting the Poconos means investing in green, renewable energy for the future while making sure that energy remains affordable for working families. I joined advocates and Rep. Tarah Probst in Stroudsburg on Monday to discuss how we can move toward a cleaner, more affordable energy future, and there’s no better time to have this conversation than when gas is $4 a gallon. Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania and ActionTogether NEPA held a press conference in Stroudsburg to demand action on skyrocketing energy and gas prices, while urging for the protection of natural resources.
