JCIS 8th grade scholars worked in teams to draw a random plot archetype, setting, and wild card, then had just 10 minutes to create a story using all three! ✍️🎲

This fun library and ELA collaboration brought lots of creativity, teamwork, and laughter while preparing students to read The Alchemist. 💜📖

Due to the ongoing water main break issue from yesterday, leaving Tappahannock Elementary School, the School Board Office, and the surrounding residential area without water, Essex County Public Schools will be closed today. Lunch will be available for pickup at James Cary Intermediate School at noon today on a first-come first-serve basis. All 12-month employees may telework or use liberal leave today. We will provide an update as soon as water service has been restored.

This includes changes to how your child will be going home. Making transportation requests by the deadline helps us keep dismissal safe, organized, and running smoothly. 🚌

ECPS is on the move to increase student achievement, school climate & culture, and overall success (reclaiming our strong reputation).

Please join ECPS as we kick off the EHS Alumni Competition!! The top 3 classes that raise the most funds to support student and staff incentives and recognition initiatives will be recognized during homecoming, in the newspaper, and have bragging rights!

This effort allows schools to recognize students/staff when progress is made in different areas throughout the school year!

The excitement is officially HERE! 🙌💙💛 Yesterday, our students gathered for an awesome fundraiser kickoff assembly with our special guest, Pete! 🎤🎉

Pete brought the energy as he showed our students all of the COOL prizes they can earn and explained exactly how our fundraiser works! 🏆🎁😎

Now it’s time to get out there, spread the word, and LET’S GET THIS FUNDRAISER STARTED! 🚀🔥
