💧 VOLUNTARY WATER CONSERVATION NOTICE 💧

Drought Warning Awareness

The Town of Tappahannock is informing residents and businesses that, according to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), our region is currently in a Drought Warning Stage.

This designation indicates that significant drought conditions are developing and that conservation efforts are needed to help protect current and future water supplies.

At this time, no mandatory water restrictions are in place. However, the Town strongly encourages voluntary water conservation to help protect our shared resources.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to:
✔ Minimize nonessential water use
✔ Take shorter showers
✔ Run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads
✔ Reduce outdoor watering
✔ Water early in the morning or later in the evening
✔ Avoid washing driveways and sidewalks unless necessary
✔ Repair household leaks promptly
✔ Limit draining and refilling swimming pools

The Town will continue monitoring local water system conditions and sharing updates as needed.

📢 REMINDER: Recycling Collection Begins at 6:00 AM Tomorrow

As a reminder, the Town of Tappahannock will begin its summer recycling collection schedule tomorrow, Thursday, June 18th.

As we have done with the regular residential trash pickup schedule, recycling collection will now begin at 6:00 AM to help protect Town staff during the hottest part of the summer. This schedule will remain in effect through August 28, 2026.

Please make sure all recycling is placed curbside before 6:00 AM tomorrow morning to ensure it is collected.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to maintain safe and efficient service during the summer months. ♻️

Now Taking Pavilion Reservations at Tappahannock Central Park!

The Town of Tappahannock is excited to announce that reservations are now available for our two new pavilions at Central Park! These pavilions are perfect for small gatherings, birthday parties, family meetups, and other events with under 20 people.

How to reserve a pavilion:
Complete the Pavilion Reservation Form
Submit it to the Town Office for approval

Forms may be returned in person at Town Hall or by email to [email protected]

Please note that only one pavilion may be reserved at a time, and applications must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the reservation date.

📢 NOTICE: Summer Recycling Collection Schedule

As we have done with the regular residential trash pickup schedule, the Town of Tappahannock will be implementing the same early start time for recycling collection.

To help protect Town staff during the hottest part of the summer, recycling collection will begin at 6:00 AM starting next Thursday, June 18th, and will run through August 28, 2026.

Please ensure all recycling is placed curbside before 6:00 AM on your scheduled collection day to ensure it is collected.
