In partnership with the Virginia Attorney Generals Office, TPD had the privilege of hosting our very first Virginia Rules Summer Camp. Virginia Rules camp provides young people in the community an opportunity to spend a summer week with law enforcement officers, while engaging in outdoor activities, and participating in Interactive instructions on Virginia law. Participants actively engaged in fishing, swimming, bowling, hiking, museum visits, Essex County Circuit Court tour, Tappahannock government building tours, Office of the Town Manager, Council Chambers, wastewater treatment plant tours, Facilities and Management, and various other activities.
We want to thank all of our volunteers, Office of the Attorney General, Councilwoman Carolyn Barrett, Vays Transit Chris Ashton, 528 Italian Restaurant, parents, and most importantly our youth who displayed the best behavior during the program. We look forward to a bigger and better program next year. Please take a look at our photos, and the smiles that were generated.
