Yesterday evening, while operating on our own brush fire we were requested to respond with our 5 ton to assist Vander Fire Department (Cedar Creek Station) in Cumberland County with a Structure Fire/Brush Fire. Due to the 5 ton being tied up on the current brush fire, personnel responded with our 4000 gallon tanker and Dublin Volunteer Fire Department responded with their large brush truck in place of our 5 ton. We would like to extend our prayers for the affected family.

Big thanks to all the fire departments, CC EMS and CCSO who responded to the Cedar Creek area yesterday to assist. Please continue to send prayers for the family affected.

🎟️ We will have tickets available tomorrow during preview day, as well as during Saturday’s auction for the BBQ plate sale, raffle, silent auction and live auction for little Annie Inman. The benefit will take place on September 26th, 2026 from 11AM-2:30PM at Tar Heel Fire/Rescue Inc.

Annie is the 2-year-old daughter of Mikey and Whitney Inman of Tar Heel, NC. Annie was recently diagnosed with Germ Cell/Yolk Sac Tumor and has begun treatments at UNC Chapel Hill. Proceeds will go directly to the Inman Family to help with medical cost, travel expenses, etc.

Tar Heel Fire/Rescue extends our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to our brothers and Sisters at White Oak Fire Department, as well as to the family and friends of Deputy Chief Price, during this difficult time.

Deputy Chief Price’s dedication, service, and commitment to his community will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our Deputy Chief David Price has gained ultimate healing following a long hard fought battle with illness. David proudly served our community and department for many years and words can not express how much we will miss him. Please pray for Melvia and Chris and all his wonderful family and surround them with love and support in the days ahead.

As you enjoy the festivities, please remember that fireworks can quickly become dangerous if they are not used responsibly.

🎆 Fireworks Safety Tips

• Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.
• Never allow young children to handle or ignite fireworks.
• Light one firework at a time and move away quickly.
• Never relight a firework that fails to ignite.
• Keep spectators at a safe distance.
• Soak used fireworks in water before disposing of them.
• Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

📜 North Carolina Fireworks Laws

In North Carolina, it is illegal for the general public to possess or use fireworks that explode, spin, leave the ground, or fly through the air, including:
❌ Firecrackers
❌ Bottle rockets
❌ Roman candles
❌ Aerial shells and similar exploding or airborne fireworks

The public may use novelty items such as:
✔ Sparklers
✔ Smoke devices
✔ Snakes
✔ Party poppers
✔ Other novelty items permitted under North Carolina law

Violating North Carolina fireworks laws may result in fines or other penalties.

If you want to enjoy a fireworks show, consider attending a professionally conducted public display.
