🌡️🌡️Due to the severe heat , cat trapping operations are temporarily suspended. 🌡️🌡️

Traps left unattended leaves cats completely exposed to the elements without a way to escape. Whether in extreme heat, cold or storms, trapped animals are at a high risk of heatstroke, hypothermia or worse. The state will allow us to trap and transport cats/dogs in the temperature range of 40-85 degrees only.

PRESS RELEASE

Last night, deputies held a driver's license checking station at the intersection of Cokey Rd. and Fairview Rd. in Rocky Mount. A vehicle fled from the checking station, eventually pulling into West Edgecombe Baptist Church. The driver then fled on foot but was quickly captured.

-Fail to Heed Light/Siren
-Injury to Trees/Crops/Lands
-Fail to Wear Seatbelt
-Unsafe Movement
-Leave Vehicle Unattended
-Fail Maintain Lane Control

He was transported to the Edgecombe County Detention Center and booked.
