- At 859 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Medina, Kerrville, Boerne, Fredericksburg, Comfort, Blanco,
Bandera, Round Mountain, Tarpley, Fair Oaks Ranch, Johnson City,
Stonewall, Old Tunnel State Park, Bankersmith, Grapetown,

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are

roads. Find an alternate route.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

* At 755 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have
fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 4 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

The weather pattern on Wednesday will begin to change as an
approaching upper level low over the southwestern U.S. weakens the
subtropical ridge axis over Texas and the western Gulf. Isolated to
scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop during the daytime
hours. A Pacific cold front will move into the region Thursday
spreading showers and thunderstorms over more of the area. Rainfall
totals from Wednesday evening through Friday will be 2-4 inches with
isolated amounts up to 8 inches possible.

Tarpley area road closure update:

FM 462 was opened up by TXDOT this morning.

Williams Creek RD-CLOSED
Hondo Creek @ Ross RD-CLOSED

Hondo Creek @ CR 211-Confirm with Medina County officials on official road closure before crossing. Bridge remains impacted by water and there are no barricades. Passable by large vehicles only. Small cars and other low to ground vehicles should still avoid.

Thomas Creek RD remains open.

Rio Hondo RD remains open.

There is still some water remaining on the highways this morning. Drive with caution.

Maverick, Medina, Real, Travis, Uvalde, Val Verde, Williamson and

* WHEN...Through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding
somewhere in the watch area. Considerable to locally catastrophic
flash flooding impacts are likely for the southern Edwards
Plateau, Rio Grande, western Hill Country, and US 90 corridor west
of San Antonio. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Catastrophic impacts are
possible downstream of the heaviest rains. Low-water crossings may
be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and
rivers are possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Intense rainfall rates and compounding effects from multiple
rounds of storms will maintain a dangerous flash flood threat
through Thursday. Additional rain amounts of 2 to 6 inches
are possible within the Flood Watch area with isolated
amounts of 10 to 15 inches possible in the Rio Grande Plains,
southern Edwards Plateau, western Hill Country, and US 90
corridor west of San Antonio.
