A shinier Sunnyside!

What happens in a historic home during the winter? Here Curatorial Technician Natalie Zaremba re-assembles the dining room chandelier at Washington Irving's Sunnyside, after removing and cleaning all the crystals by hand. Historic Hudson Valley's sites get their ‘’spring cleaning’’ during the winter months. Everything is inspected, all of the objects are dusted, furniture is moved away from the walls and waxed, the silver is polished, painting frames are dusted, hardware is checked, textiles are vacuumed - even the wood in the fireplaces is dusted! After the flurry of housekeeping work is done, the interiors are restaged and readied to receive visitors in May. See you then!
