As part of our weekly driver training, Engine 190 was out on the trails yesterday evening so Hilltop Drivers could practice pump ops - specifically drafting from a static water source and operating the deluge gun.

On Friday evening August 7th, Pocantico Hills FD E189 operated along with numerous Westchester, Putnam, and Rockland county fire departments at a major 4th alarm structure fire in the Town of Ossining.

PHFD operated on scene for 4 hours before returning to service.

Through the very end of May into the month of June, Pocantico Firefighters have kept busy, responding to a number of alarms, including a dumpster fire, MVAs, several residential and commercial alarms, a stru-assignment, and two multi-alarm structure fires in the neighboring Tarrytown Fire District.

In addition to this, Members completed house duty, work details, three nights of bailout training with our friends (interrupted twice by alarms), attended a lithium-ion battery/electrical vehicle hazards seminar hosted by SHFD and taught by , attended a community event in the Hamlet, truck day at Pocantico Hills School, the Pleasantville Fire Department Parade, and the SHFD Clambake.

This weekend, Pocantico Hills FD Firefighters and apparatus appeared alongside the Archville Fire Department in the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department’s 150th Anniversary Parade on Saturday May 15th, 2026.

Late Wednesday evening on April 8th, Pocantico Hills FD Tanker 12, along with other area tankers assisted the Briarcliff Manor FD at a mulch pile fire in the Claybird Ln section of their fire district.
