Throughout August, our officers have continued training to stay prepared and ready to serve our community. This training focused on the patrol rifle and strengthening skills needed during critical situations, including protecting our schools and our children. A special thank you to Instructor Parra for working with our officers!

🚧 Taking Action on a Hazardous Town-Owned Property

We are taking action on another Town-owned property that had become a hazardous and unsanitary building. The property had been collecting debris, dead animals, pigeons, and other conditions that needed to be addressed as soon as possible. We knew this property needed attention, and that’s exactly what we did. The work involving asbestos and the hazardous materials is being handled by a licensed contractor to ensure the cleanup and removal are completed safely and properly.

We’re committed to taking care of Town-owned properties, addressing safety concerns, and continuing to improve our community, one property at a time.

💛🎗️ PAINT THE TOWN YELLOW! 🎗️💛

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we’ve already started by putting yellow ribbons around town to show our support.

We have a special reason to Paint the Town Yellow right here in our Tatum community. Ada Torres, a 2nd grader at Tatum Schools, is a childhood cancer survivor and SHE BEAT CANCER! Ada is a true example of strength, courage, and bravery. At such a young age, she faced something no child should ever have to face, and she showed incredible strength throughout her journey. We are so proud of Ada and her amazing victory!

The yellow ribbons you see around Tatum are a reminder of Ada’s bravery, her journey, and every child and family affected by childhood cancer.

We are out of food boxes!
We’ll be back in two weeks with more boxes!

Morning Tatum!

We’ll be here today at the Nor-Lea clinic with limited food boxes! We’ll be set up between 11am-1pm!

If you haven’t seen us this month, come by and chat with staff and signup for a food boxes!

Like our Food Bank in Hobbs, our Street Level Food Boxes are part of the 30-day supplementary program.

We’re here in Tatum every other Friday, weather permitting.

PSA: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

At the request of Tatum citizens, clarification is being provided regarding annexation.

Annexation was mentioned during public comments at the August 24th Special Meeting. It was not on the agenda for discussion or action, and no action was taken to move forward.

The Mayor and Council clarified that the Town will not be moving forward with annexation.

Another great donation to our local food pantry!

A huge thank you to 7-Eleven/Stripes Tatum for giving back and supporting a resource that is here for our community. Our local food pantry provides food and essential items to individuals and families in Tatum who may need a little extra support.

We are also incredibly grateful for a $3,000 donation from an anonymous donor. Generosity like this makes a tremendous difference and helps us continue serving families in our community.
