Gotta catch them all! Pokemon Go has arrived in full force. There are numerous Pokestops in the downtown as well as multiple gyms. Many people are coming to these locations looking to battle or pick up items. I have attached a picture of a cute eevee I capture on the green. While everyone is out there looking for pokemon, I just wanted to remind people to be safe. We have seen media reports of incidents in other communities. Do not drive and try to catch them. Pay attention to where you are. Watch out for natural hazards. Do not trespass onto private property. To goal is to have fun. Happy collecting.

Today is the day. Taunton S.A.F.E Free Family Day. Car Seat Safety Checks. Need to have a car seat installed then today is great day to have that done. You don't want to miss K-9 Blitz get there early to check out K-9 Blitz and his handler K-9 Officer Swartz there demonstration is at 11:30am. Dunk Tank!!!! DUNK a Dad! All money raised goes toward scholarships for the youth to attend the Lewis Park Boys and Girls Club Summer Camp!

Today at 9:30am Taunton Police received a call for baby ducklings that fell into the drain. Thank you TPD, TFD, Taunton Animal Control for rescuing the 10 Ducklings and returning them safely to their Mama! Photo credits to EWilson

There will be at this Community event at the Taunton Galleria Mall, JC Penney upper parking lot, June 11th from 12-4.
Along with the Taunton Fire Department and many other local agencies, the Taunton Police will be present.
The Taunton Police Child Passenger Safety Seat technicians will be present to install seats, provided information on installation and general info on child seats.
The Taunton Police Dive Team will also be present with the boats. There will also be Police motorcycles and ATVs.
Officers will be on hand to answer questions and you can take pictures on the boats and ATVs.

Bring the whole family to explore emergency vehicles courtesy of local law enforcement and EMS agencies. Check out fire trucks, police cars and more up close and hands on! Enjoy face painting, giveaways, music and more! Admission is free! So mark your calendar and join us in celebrating our community June 11th.

***Update to this week's construction and utility update:
MassDOT will be making pavement repairs to Route-140 (County Street) from Home Depot to Hart Street tentatively scheduled June 9, 10, 13 and 14 weather permitting. Lane restrictions will be in place with police details
The following construction work will be occurring in Taunton for the week ending Friday 06/10/16:
Sewer/Drain
Forest St – excavated sewer and drain replacement. Note that this work will likely require a detour of Forest St during work hours (7AM-4PM)
Gas:
Warren St. – gas main replacement
Paving/Sidewalks:
Note that the following streets will have trench or curb-to-curb pavement during the week, occasionally requiring detours during work hours (7AM-4PM):
Trescott St
School St
Cedar St
Union St
Church Green
Cohannet St (near Taunton Green)
Winthrop St (near Taunton Green)
