Yesterday, Lake County Fire Rescue crews were honored to receive two Phoenix Awards alongside Clermont and Minneola Fire Departments for the responses to two lifesaving patient calls. 🚑🚒 To receive a Phoenix Award, the patient must not only be successfully resuscitated but also discharged without neurological complications, which could not have been done without the teamwork, quick action, and advanced medical care that these crews gave.

These awards were presented by Orlando Health and Our Legacy during a special ceremony, and we are so glad to get to recognize these amazing crews.

Effective today, Friday, May 29, Lake County has lifted the countywide burn ban. The ban was put in place in April as a precaution during dry conditions, but after recent rainfall and improving conditions, the fire risk has decreased, and the Keetch-Byram Drought Index has remained below the threshold needed to keep the ban in place.

While the burn ban has been lifted, safety is still critical. If you plan to burn outdoors:
• Keep fires contained to a fire pit or fire-resistant container
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Always have a water source nearby

Even with improved conditions, it only takes one spark to start a wildfire. Stay alert and burn responsibly.

to Lieutenant Tim Judy sharing a special station visit with his daughter back in 2016. 🚒 This year, she graduated from high school, and it's just a reminder of how quickly time flies.🎓 Behind every first responder is a family making sacrifices and still supporting the person they love every step of the way.
