This week members of our School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit attended the Florida Association of School Resource Officers 47th annual School Safety and Training Conference in Jacksonville. This conference brings together SROs from all over the state of Florida to learn and collaborate on the latest strategies, best practices, and resources. This collaboration helps our SROs develop positive relationships with staff and students and ultimately provides them with additional tools and knowledge to keep our schools safe all year long. 🏫

We just received even more photos from the incredible training with Jersey Tactical at the 2026 FASRO Conference!

For three full days, SROs and law enforcement officers sharpened their breaching and forcible entry skills..because when seconds matter, having the ability to get through a locked door can save lives.

A huge thank you to Jersey Tactical for investing in our members and helping make school safety stronger across Florida.

This week has been about more than a conference, it has been about investing in the people who protect our schools every single day.

From breaching techniques with Jersey Tactical, interrogation of Aaron Stark by Tom C. of Armour One, Michael Collazo’s impactful Covenant School debrief, Active Assailant Single Officer Response with the Florida SWAT Association.. we also had USPCA sponsored K-9 training!

Our members have been challenged, equipped, and inspired to be better.

School safety is constantly evolving, and so are we.

The days of calling School Resource Officers “retired on duty” are long gone. Today’s SROs are committed to learning, growing, and preparing for the moments that matter most.

Every class. Every scenario. Every lesson. It all makes us better for the students, staff, and communities we serve.

As we wrap up an incredible week at FASRO 2026, we want to say thank you to everyone who made this conference such a success.

Thank you to every attendee, instructor, vendor, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who invested their time in making our schools and communities safer. Your passion, professionalism, and dedication are what make FASRO so special.

Congratulations to our newly sworn-in Board Members, our Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, and to our new FASRO President, TJ Williams. We know your leadership will continue to move this organization forward.

This week reminded us that FASRO isn’t just a conference—it’s a family. We’re excited for another year of growth, welcoming new members, building new friendships, and continuing our mission together.

Thank you for being part of FASRO 2026. Safe travels home, and we’ll see you next year!

It was awesome seeing so many members come together to trade patches and challenge coins, share stories, and make new connections. Events like this are what make the FASRO Conference so special.

Officer Jamaila Rodriguez and Kevin Smith recently attended the 2026 Florida Association of School Resource Officers (FASRO) School Safety and Training Conference in Jacksonville.

The annual conference brings school resource officers, school safety professionals and public safety leaders from across Florida to share best practices and improve training. Ongoing professional development, allows our officers continue to help keep our schools and students safe.
