What a great turnout today at LCSO’s annual project kid connect in Clermont!

Explorers and advisors ran our mobile bicycle safety program; fitting and providing bicycle helmets and running the safety road course. Our youth-run bike safety program is one of our many post programs and has run for over 15 years around the county.

Hundreds of Lake County youth served, and helmets provided in partnership with the State of Florida DOT bike safety programs.

FINAL UPDATE: 9-1-1 services were fully restored overnight. All emergency calls are now being routed and answered as normal.

UPDATE:
· Please do not call 911 to check if the system is working. These calls tie up critical emergency resources and may delay responses to those who need help.
· People who need 911 services should text 911 with their location and a description of the emergency.
· Lake County’s 911 outage began at 2:09 p.m. today.
· Citrus, Marion, Osceola, Pasco, and Pinellas counties are also impacted.
· Lake County averages approximately one hundred and fifty 911 calls per day.

Lake, Citrus, Marion, Osceola, Pasco, and Pinellas counties are experiencing technical difficulties affecting 911 services. Text-to-911 is available as an alternative. We are actively working with our partners to restore the phone systems as quickly as possible. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
