Congratulations to our very own Lori Johnson, Family and Consumer Science Agent (FCS) for being awarded the Mary Harrison Award at our recent Florida Cooperative Extension Summit. This award is given to an outstanding FCS agent that has shown high-quality outcomes and impacts for a program they have developed and implemented. Lori has partnered with Great Scott Farms for the past 5 years delivering fun, engaging and impactful farm-to-table learning opportunities. Through these programs participants have consumed more fruits and veggies, supported local farming, decreased food waste, tried healthier cooking methods and improved overall health.

Looking for a fun, hands‑on camp that teaches real-life skills your kids will use forever? Our Summer Cooking Camp is back!
From daily healthy recipes to cool food science experiments, young chefs (ages 8–14) will chop, mix, taste, and create their way through an unforgettable week.
And yes—they’ll even prepare a full family meal at the end of camp.
Spots are filling up fill fast, so grab yours today! We have 2 versions of camp, if your youth participated last year, this year they would create different recipes.
