Today, we brought our entire Tawas Area Middle & High School family—grades 5–12—together to kick off the new school year!

We reviewed important handbook updates, introduced our new staff and welcomed back familiar faces, and talked about making this a great year at Tawas.

A special thank you to Mr. William Stoll, our community guest, for sharing an inspirational message with our students and staff and having the honor of ringing in the new school year! 🔔

📣 NEW THIS YEAR: Tawas Area Schools is transitioning to ParentSquare!

We’re excited to introduce ParentSquare, a new communication platform designed to make it easier for families to stay informed and connected with our schools.

Throughout this school year, we will gradually transition to ParentSquare, with the goal of ultimately using it as our one-stop system for school calls, emails, text messages, announcements, emergency notifications, important information, and attachments.

The wait is over! Tonight, both JV and Varsity hit the road to Johannesburg to take on the Cardinals!

A few things to know:
💵 Gates are CASH ONLY
🚫 There will be NO concessions
⏰ JV kicks off at 4:00 PM, with Varsity following shortly after

These Braves have been putting in the work, and they’re ready to show up and compete! Come out, bring your red and black, and help us cheer them on! ❤️🖤

Make sure to stop into room #13 at Open House tonight (6pm-7:30pm) to collect your copy of the 2025-2026 Yearbook. It showcases everything you will want to remember about "Life Behind These Walls." If you didn't pre-order your copy, you are in luck, we have some extras still available to purchase for $60. You can do so online at yearbookforever.com or you can pay in room #13 with cash or check.

We’re excited to welcome our Braves families back to school tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26! Come meet your teachers, find classrooms and lockers, get connected, and make sure you’re ready for a great school year!

*Middle School: 5:00–6:30 PM
*Clara Bolen Elementary: 5:30–7:00 PM
*High School: 6:00–7:30 PM

📸 MS & HS FAMILIES — DON’T MISS SCHOOL PICTURES!
Lifetouch begins at 3:00 PM in the Alumni Gym. All MS & HS students need their picture taken for student IDs, passes, and the yearbook. This is our new normal—get those pictures taken before or during Open House!
