I also made it to Myers Mustangs, and their building is so close to being finished I didn’t want to show too much as we are excited to show it off at our open house for staff, students, and families! So here is a sneak peek of some progress. More sneak peeks to come!

Took a moment to swing by Holland Elementary School and the renovations are coming close to completion. The new floors were being installed/were installed, the last of the new windows were being installed, lighting was wrapping up, carpentry was being built, and painters were making final touches. Looking forward to seeing what the final touches look like next week.

The addition is coming along nicely as well, looking forward to seeing that completed this fall!

I took a moment to go visit the progress at McDowell Elementary School this morning, and the crews are hard at work. The drywall has been installed, new lighting is getting installed, and new windows are fully installed. The next step is getting the new walls mud and painted, the new carpentry built and the new floors installed.

After touching base with the Superintendent this morning, he stated that he believes, and is listening to experts say, that the school will be ready for the start of the new year. I have stressed that if anything changes that he owes it to the students, families, and staff a communication as soon as possible, as many are reorganizing their schedules for the start of school.

Hello Taylor School District families, its that time of the year when orientations and open houses are happening across the school district. I have been able to put together a list of each schools events happening for your students and families. I look forward to see some of you at the buildings at those dates and times.

If you have any questions related to the orientations or open houses I would reach out to your child's school starting the 19th, or reach out to the Board of Education!

An update to the community that the former Eurekadale Elementary, home of the Cougars, has now been demolished. The school which was originally originally built in the 1950’s closed its doors as an elementary in 2002, reopening as a Head Start program before closing again in 2018, leaving the building vacant for the past six years. While the structure is no longer standing, the memories Eurekadale gave for generations of students and families will always remain a part of our community's history. Thank you, Eurekadale, for your many years of service!

What a difference one week makes! I found my way over to Holland Elementary School and the building renovations are in the final stretch and the addition is coming along nicely. The building is in the process of being painted, the new library has its new lights fully installed, and the new windows are getting framed and installed throughout this week. The new addition has its outer walls up and the crews are making progress. Holland is looking amazing!

We are getting close to the finish line at Myers Mustangs as the renovations are starting to come together! New windows have been installed in nearly all of the renovated spaces (pictured below) and the painters are starting to paint the renovated spaces of the building. The new ceiling tracks are getting installed, and the doors are nearly complete. I was able to talk to the on-site project coordinator and she said that the school is right on track for students this September. So excited to show the end product soon!
