It’s still the best breakfast in town. My family is a proud, hardworking GM family and I am the first person in my family to complete college in several generations. I worked my way through college waiting tables, cleaning offices, and researching for professors. Through hard work, I was awarded academic scholarships along the way. After graduation I dedicated my career to public service, spending 9 years in the Downriver area as a public defender while focusing on treatment courts and serving as a team member on the 33rd District Court’s Sobriety Court program. In 2015, I joined the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office where I specialized in violent crime. I worked for nearly 7 years supporting victims and their families while prosecuting armed robberies, homicides, and cases involving gun violence. While at the Prosecutor’s Office, I continued to work in the community, training law enforcement on case processing and engaging with diverse communities. I also presented at the Wayne County Citizen’s Academy on gang violence and local colleges on careers in public service. I served, and continue to serve, on the board of Downriver Families Against Narcotics where I was mentored by Judge Geno Salomone. When Judge Salomone decided to retire, I was beyond excited for the opportunity to continue serving my community and to oversee one of the most innovative, successful, and established treatment courts in Michigan. My appointment was supported by Judge Salomone, nearly all of the Downriver District Court judges, multiple Wayne County Circuit Court judges including Chief Judge Timothy Kenny, Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Senator Erika Geiss, the UAW, Taylor Federation of Teachers, and the Taylor Patrol Officer’s Union. I am honored to serve as Taylor’s first female judge. Please share this page with your friends and family, so they can get to know me as we move forward. I promise to always put our community first and make you proud. I hope to see you all out and about in our great city!
