The Public Works Department is continuing to work to clear downed tree limbs throughout the City with help from the Parks and Recreation Department. They are working as quickly as they can and ask for your patience as they make their way through the many reports. Currently, crews are prioritizing clearing roads. Once roadways have been cleared, crews will begin clearing rights-of-way throughout the city.

🌳 Tree Limb & Brush Debris Disposal
The City is providing the following options free of charge for homeowners to dispose of tree limbs and brush caused by the winter storm:

• Residents that are clearing limbs and brush from their residence can begin placing cuttings (6 to 8 feet in length) along their curbside for Public Works crews to pick up for disposal.

• A drop off location is also available starting at 3 p.m. today (2/2) for resident to begin bringing tree limb and brush debris for disposal (6 to 8 feet in length). Drop off location is 1200 Welch St. and will be available to residents 24-hours.

We will post additional information on the City’s website and social media channels as it becomes available for the duration of this weather event.

Please visit the City’s Emergency Resources page at http://www.taylortx.gov/1121/EMERGENCY-UPDATES-AND-RESOURCES for helpful information regarding power outages and emergency management.

Growing new plants from cuttings is a great way to increase your stock in a relatively short time. Rooted cuttings are often sturdier than seedlings, and come to maturity faster, many of them bearing flowers

It is with great sadness Keep Taylor Beautiful is announcing the end of the Post Office Recycling Program. Starting in 2010 KTB provided recycling bins inside the Post Office Lobby for the public to dispose of recyclable paper. The program grew from one bin to three bins over the years. KTB volunteers rolled the bins out of the lobby and down the street to the empty the bins into paper recycling dumpsters once a week.

Occasionally, volunteers would find trash and non-recyclables in the bins. This has escalated to include containers of urine, to***co spit, and fouled diapers every week. We can no longer expose our volunteers to these health hazards. We are removing the bins from the Post Office Lobby and donating them to local nonprofit organizations. We encourage the patrons of the Taylor Post Office to continue to recycle by taking the paper home to their personal recycling bins.
