Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I know we received a lot of positive feedback on our new police vehicles but believe it or not, we only have a 1 star rating for our taxi services. The main complaint was the backseats are not very comfortable, you are required to wear metal bracelets and they only take you to the Taylor Police Department.

As much as we appreciate all of the citizens in the city, we do NOT want to be spending the holiday with you. We hope that everyone enjoys the holiday responsibly.

Remember there are many different taxi services with higher ratings that can assist you in getting home if you have a little bit too much to drink.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

The City of Taylor has now declared a snow emergency for the upcoming snow fall. The snow emergency will be in effect starting at 12PM on February 2nd 2022. All vehicles not removed from city streets may be ticketed or towed to allow emergency services and road clearing. A follow up message will be sent when the snow emergency is lifted. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please be patient with snow removal as the primary focus will be on main roadways. Subdivisions will be cleared as soon as possible.

Would you be prepared if we told you more than 8” of snow was expected over the next two days? For much of lower Michigan, this is a reality. Here are some tips to help you prepare for a winter storm.

• Create an emergency winter preparedness kit for your home that includes water, at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food per person, prescribed medications, flashlight and extra batteries, first aid kit, pet supplies, and extra clothes and blankets.

• Keep on hand items for your pets. Animals feel the effects of wind chill. Be sure to have suitable shelter with food and water.

• Clean gutters to prevent ice dams from forming. Roof ice dams can cause water build-up leading to interior damage.

• Have a backup heating source. A backup heating source will prevent pipes from freezing and keep your home warm in the event of an outage. Make sure that gas generators or fuel-based heating systems are vented outside to prevent carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning
