Alexander County Schools announces two administrative changes. Alexander Central High School Assistant Principal Kelly Brantley is moving to West Alexander Middle as an AP, and former exceptional children’s teacher Don Robinette is moving to the high school to serve as an assistant principal.
Brantley earned her administrative degree from Gardner Webb University in 2023 and was formerly a biology teacher at Lake Norman High School. Before Gardner Webb, she attended Appalachian State University. Brantley joined ACHS in July 2023 and has worked in education since 2017. The position at WAMS became available when AP Ashley Jenkins took a job at South Caldwell High School.
Don Robinette has been in education for 15 years serving most recently at WAMS in the self-contained class. He has also worked with special needs students at East Alexander Middle and Hudson Elementary School. Robinette holds a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Management from Appalachian State University. He earned his Masters Degree in Special Education from UNC-Charlotte in 2017 and is expected to complete his administrative license work in Spring 2027 with a degree from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Congratulations to both on their new roles.
