Members have reported receiving telephone calls from individuals claiming affiliation with Southern Pine, offering rebates, and requesting banking details for payments. Please note that we never request banking information over the phone. If you suspect you've been a victim of this scam, please immediately contact your financial institution.

Cooper the Owl is back with an important reminder: Always keep your distance from downed power lines!
Never drive near them and CALL 911 immediately if you spot one. Every downed line should be treated as energized, even if it doesn't appear to be.

Did you know members can conveniently pay their Southern Pine Electric bills with cash where they shop? Simply show the barcode on the back of your bill at any participating location and tell the cashier how much you want to pay.

Only cash payments can be made at these locations. A convenience fee of $1.50 will be charged by the store.

Texting is the easiest and most convenient way to let Southern Pine Electric know that your power is out. The same number you rely on to call is the same number you text to report outages – 800-231-5240.
Save 800-231-5240 in your contacts to use to report outages in the future. When you use this option, there is no waiting or busy signals. This number allows members to quickly call or text an outage – provided their mobile number is in our system associated with their account.

HOW TO REPORT AN OUTAGE
To Report an Outage: Text OUT to 800-231-5240

For Status Updates: Text STATUS to 800-231-5240

To Un-enroll: Text the word QUIT to 800-231-5240

Any member that does not want to remain enrolled should simply text QUIT to 800-231-5240 , to opt-out. Once opted out, you will not receive SPE outage or emergency-related information through texts. The only way your mobile number can be opted back in is for you to text JOIN from the mobile phone to the number.

IMPORTANT
For any of our outage reporting systems to work for you, your mobile number must be in our database associated with your account. If your number has changed, and you have not updated it with us, please visit your My Power account to quickly and easily update it. If you do not have a My Power account, visit www.southernpine.coop or call 800-231-5240 to update your information.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue into this evening but coverage will decrease overnight. Another round of isolated to scattered showers and storms is on tap tomorrow with warm and humid weather sticking around.

Look for rain chances and humidity to increase significantly this weekend with the heaviest rainfall expected over southern portions of the area. Heat indices will become quite uncomfortable, especially by Sunday.
