Read Across America Week in next week March 2nd-6th! We have a week full of dress up days and educational activities to celebrate reading! Watch for several handouts that will be sent home tomorrow in Thursday folders.

We are excited to announce our Books, Buddies & Book Fair event in celebration of Read Across America Week on March 2 and March 3!

Students are invited to come to school early with a special guest to enjoy reading together and exploring our Book Fair. The event will take place from 7:30–8:10 a.m. each morning. A delicious snack will be provided by our PTA.

To help manage attendance, we have assigned days by last name:

March 2: Students with last names A–L
March 3: Students with last names M–Z

We look forward to celebrating the joy of reading with our students and their special guests! The book fair will also be open after school from 3 to 4 on March 2nd and 3rd!

Today we had the Safe Routes Utah-
“Beat the Street” Assembly on safety! They reviewed many helpful tips for crossing the street, wearing helmets, and helping others be safe in the community.

A big thank you to all the families who joined us for the Kindergarten & 1st Grade Family Game Activity on Thursday! Our students had so much fun learning new educational games, and we hope you enjoy playing them at home to support your child’s math and literacy growth!

Bennion Elementary School PTA is seeking your feedback and input regarding parent involvement at our school. We are always in need of more parent volunteers to support the fun and educational activities we are working to include at our school. We want to know how you like to be involved. Any amount of time you give is so very appreciated!

We are also in need of individuals willing to be nominated for PTA board positions for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Please review the open positions and indicate your interest. Without your support and willingness to volunteer, PTA will not be able to continue at our school. We have such a great Bennion community and will thrive better with more support and volunteers!

Salt Lake Community College is excited to host a physical activity and play program for students with disabilities in grades 4–7. Their program is called SLCC’s Kids in Play (SKIP).
In SKIP, each participating student is paired one-on-one with an SLCC student volunteer. Together, they engage in sports skills, small group games, rhythm and dance activities, and arts and crafts- all in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment.

SKIP is completely free to join. They meet every Thursday evening from 6:00–7:30 PM at the Lifetime Activities Center on the Taylorsville Redwood campus.

Happy Valentine’s Day! We had many family helpers that planned some wonderful parties. Our classes spread kindness by decorating each other’s doors.

You’re Invited to Multicultural Night! 🌍📚

Families are invited to join us for a fun and meaningful Multicultural Celebration on Thursday, March 5th from 6:00–7:30 p.m.

This special evening will celebrate the many cultures that make up our community. Families will have the opportunity to explore countries from around the world, enjoy literacy-based activities, see cultural performances, and sample different foods. It’s a great night to learn, connect, and celebrate together!

To make this event a success, we need the help of our amazing families and community members. If you’re able to volunteer, we would greatly appreciate your support in one of the following areas:

Volunteer Opportunities:

Create an informational booth or display about a country with pictures, artifacts, music, clothing, etc.

Run a station that teaches a game, craft, or activity from a country

Perform a cultural dance, song, or musical number

Business partners who would like to donate or provide food

Whether you can help lead an activity, represent a country, your involvement will help make this night memorable for our students and families.
