Here are a just a few of those functions: Election Authority, Certified Copies of Vital Records, Marriage License Applications, Assumed Business Name, Property Tax Levies and Recording of Deeds. Our office is here to help and we welcome your visit, phone call or message.

📢 VOTER NOTICE – Taylorville #7 & #8

The Christian County Clerk’s Office wants to clarify that the polling place for voters in Taylorville Precincts #7 and #8 — Manner’s Park Dining Hall — WILL be open for the 2026 General Primary Election.

🗳 Polling Hours: 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

If you vote in these precincts, please plan to vote at Manner’s Park Dining Hall during these hours.

In Illinois, the Primary (Mar 17, 2026) decides party nominees—you can only vote in one party’s primary. The General (Nov 3, 2026) decides the actual officeholders from all parties, independents & new parties. 🗳️

Important information for vote-by-mail voters 🚨
Mail postmark rules have changed. Ballots are now postmarked when processed, not when you drop them in the mailbox—this can cause 1–2 day delays.
If you’re returning your ballot close to Election Day:
• Request a manual postmark at the post office
• Use a secure drop box
• Deliver directly to your election office
Don’t risk a late postmark. Make sure your vote counts. 🗳️

In Illinois, you don’t register with a party. At the primary, you simply choose which party’s ballot you want. You can switch each primary. If you pick non-partisan by mail, you may not get a ballot if no non-partisan issues are on it.
